Alternative rock, like stuff by They Might Be Giants, Devo, Bare Naked Ladies, The Black Keys, etc. The sort of music that makes me laugh.

Maximalism, minimalism. Nothing in between.

I'm also into power metal. I've seen Primal Fear here live. They are a little heavier but still power metal. They are awesome live and the place was small so I was very close to the stage. I am also looking forward for the gig of Helloween and Stratovarius together! I'm a little excited. Helloween was the firts power metal band so it is a little classic. Their best cd in my opinion is "The Kepper of the Seventh Keys: Part 1". It is the best in terms of raw energy. I also had "Better than Raw" cd which had songs that were more complex than the first cds. I'm still listening to the "7 Sinners". I like Stratovarius because their songs are complex, every musician plays very well their instrument and their songs are sentimental. I mean look at the song "Deep Unknow" they play the guitar as well as Yngwie Malmsteen. I saw one of their shows but I didn't know very well their songs.

Also here in Brazil there are André Matos and his band Shaaman and also another power metal band called Angra. They are cool. Sorry if I was Off topic.

I listen to it all... but the one I'm most passionate about is music under the electronica genera. They used to be divided up by BPM(beats per minute) and defining characteristics but now-a-days, everyone is mixing influences that you dont know where one style starts and another one ends. Anyways, here are some examples and let me know if youd like a playlist in any of the dance generas, enjoy :)

Nu-Disco / Alternative Dance:
Miike Snow - "Animal"

Club Music:
Axwell, Ingrosso, Angello, LBL - "Leave The World Behind"

Progressive House:
Deadmau5 - "Aguru"

Trance:
Alpha 9 - "Come Home"

Dubstep:
Skrillex - Scary Monsters and Nice Spirits

Just like everything else in my life, my musical tastes are very eccentric and widely varied. I like every style. If I had to pick a few though, I would probably say Alt-rock, Country, and Grunge. Especially anything from the Seattle grunge movements.

I like alot of genres but my focus tends to be some rock, Christian, and bluegrass. Is there any aspie mandolinist on this forum who has shared my frustration over learning how to play Bill Monroe's Big Mon just right or close to the original?
