Are aspies more passionate and receptive to music?

For example if I listened to a song I thought was epic/beautiful/intense, I get choked up, my adreneline flies, and I feel a rush of emotions for certain parts of a song/album, etc. If I was to show someone else the same piece of music, they wouldn't care.

Short answer "No"

Long answer "No."

Plus, if this forum is any indication, a shockingly high portion of aspies have terrible taste anyway.

Some seem to be (I am), but I've heard others say they aren't affected by music at all, and don't get why anyone would bother wasting time listening to it.

Sometimes, I deliberately don't listen to music because it affects me so much (emotional state) that I don't want to be disturbed or exhausted by it (i.e. on days when I have a lot of things that need to be done).

YES!! Sometimes I'll be listening to my mp3 player at work and I have to try, make a physical effort, not to cry when certain songs play. Even if I've heard them 1,000 times, I could've heard the same song the day before with no reaction, but at some particular moments I'm overcome with emotion.

Most recently, it was the live version of "The Rain Song" by Led Zeppelin. What songs make you cry?

such music makes me lose track of everything else, the world could be blowing up and i'd still be swooningly enraptured by sublime beauty in sound and melody.

Music gives me an awesome buzz, a high almost. I experience euphoria while listening to certain songs, and end up lying down in bed with my eyes closed, hands behind my head, with a massive smile on my face. I have had experiences in the past where I've been at the point of crying I was so happy. It depends on what I listen to though, usually its dream trance/euphoric trance or happy hardcore that sets me away.

tbh that is pretty sh***y music, not saying i don't like it because i do.

Anyway i can relate to this with classical music and movie scores, it just brings up emotions that i normally do not feel (thankfully). If i really get into the music i get a bit depressed, i wish i wouldn't because now i can't appreciate the music as much as i want to. I do not know anyone that can get moved by music to the point of almost crying. But that doesn't say much because i don't know many people enough to know whether they are moved emotionally by this type of music.

I edit out and save my fave music clips from movies and TV shows.
Certain ones I loop and listen to endlessly; some of them only a few seconds long.
I'm in total dream land as I listen.
I have clips from the early VHS days that I recently converted to DVD.
