I love the idea of differently themed My Little Ponies.

Me too! I really enjoy imagining my favorite fictional characters as My Little Ponies. I plan on doing more pics of that type of thing in the near future.

Thanks! I reacall that you were a Tim Burton's fan.

It was a exercise from the lesson about dark colours. I was mixing purple with yellow to form black.

Your poney is very stylish too!

You are very kind thanks Annetta Marie.

Hi Wedge. It isn't easy drawing with the computer. If you don't mind me giving you a tip, the eyes are half way up the head, at least according to the viewing point.

For this painting, the ref photo was taken at night with the subject directly under a light bulb.
Oils, Black and White paint.

Qalhata

The proud daughter of Pharaoh Anhurimose of Keshta, Qalhata has inherited from godly ancestors the power of divination, allowing her to see people's deepest secrets and see across thousands of miles. The domineering High Priest Baerna seeks her hand in marriage, but Qalhata finds the prospect so disgusting that she flees into the desert only to be captured by the barbarous Uzosi tribe. Anhurimose sends some Norvolk warriors from the far north to rescue her, but she doesn't want to return to the High Priest's clutches...

Qalhata is the latest and hopefully final evolution of my old OC Kasaqa. The name change came about simply because I was sick of her original name, but the most important change I've made to her is her career. Although she might do some physical fighting later in the story, she's more of a mystical type than a warrior now. The reason for that is because I wanted to write a black female character that was more "feminine" to counter the stereotype of the aggressive and masculine black woman.

BTW, as I type this I'm over 2,700 words into her story.
