Allied Vision's "Confession of dementia"
I am utterly obsessed with it. Have been for over ten years. It's perfect heavy electronic feel, cinematic atmosphere and inhuman vocals take me into this nightmarish gothic futuristic world dominated by machines. Massive influence on me.
Godflesh's "Like Rats"
Godflesh are weird, when I first heard the streetcleaner album it did nothing for me. Yet, I kept coming back...again and again and again, until every discordant guitar sound, drum machine beat and mechanical bassline pluck got into my head and became one of the catchiest things ever for me. This sone was the one I seem to hum nearly every day.
The Doctor Who Theme Tune (Original and 80's versions)
Delia Derbyshire was a genius. That classic bassline that must of inspired so many industrial and electronic bands over the past 50 odd years or so. The alien atmosphere and my yog it is SO catchy. Perfection.
Front Line Assembly - "Prophecy", "Plasticity", "Mental Distortion"
I wrote an entire science fiction mythology to "prophecy". It is the most perfect sci-fi apocalypse song ive ever heard. Those choirs, those samples, those armageddon-like lyrics. The intensity and feeling behind it. "Plasticity" Is like everything awesome about dance music - then amplified to max, it's the one and only good thing that came out of the movie "Time Cop", iv never heard a more intense dance track than this. "Mental Distortion" on the other hand is minimalism to perfection, those catchy bass riffs, mechanical drum samples that are so well timed, the perfectly distorted caustic vocals...ahhhh yes.
Those are my song obsessions. I shall sleep now. Yes.
