Like showing facial expressions and emotions and trying to overcome shyness awkwardness is hard for me, and ever since I found out I had AS, I keep thinking that I will never be able to be a good actress, because it feels like I'm stuck with these traits when it comes to acting.

So is it possible to overcome these traits in acting when you are an Aspie?

Ask Dan Aykroyd and Darryl Hannah. They're both Aspies.

I know most of them would be good at memorizing lines! I am so good at that! I know all the lines to Family Guy and the parts that Billy Idol plays in certain movies and I love to imitate them!

I'm always quoting Buffy!! I know exactly what she's gonna say and when she's gonna say it!! Not all the time but most of the time!

I love acting! I always have. I remember when I was in the sixth grade, I would read aloud parts and impress my teachers while entertaining my classmates. I did a little acting throughout junior high and high school, and I tried to be in a play earlier this year, but I wasn't given a part in it.

I find that it's easy for me to muster proper facial expressions and vocal fluctuations just from studying other people acting on television and in plays, as well as from studying everyday interactions with other people.

Why not? In fact, NTs understand and apply gestures more naturally than Aspies, so an Aspie might go through a degree of 'acting' to try to appear NT anyway.

I think I'm pretty good at acting, myself.

I don't think being an aspie would hold you back becoming an actress.

There are pretty cool roles for Aspies, Batman for example. He's got coolness and no external display of emotions.

Vincent D'Onofrio and Crispin Glover both have been diagnosed with Asperger's, and they're pretty decent actors.

I was good at acting but couldn't keep it up but I reckon I would have done well in the acting business. =]
I see no reason why having any ASD will prevent you to be an actress.

I've never been in a play before, but I've been told I'm really good at acting. I have no problems with emotions or facial expressions.
