The band Ive obsessed over since 1987 is Australian band Icehouse. I had a crush on lead singer of Icehouse Iva Davies when I was 14 years old. I had pictures of Icehouse all over my bedroom wall and pictures of Iva Davies everywhere I went to two Icehouse concerts and I had all the Icehouse merchandise and every album they brought out. I still to this day listen to Icehouse even though three of the members are no longer in the band I still enjoy the music and still sing and dance to the music. I now respect Iva Davies as a musician, song writer and classical musician and I don't go gaga or drool over him anymore. Icehouse has just bought out there 25th anniversary of their album Man of Colours which I remember buying on Lp many years ago I bought it the the other day it also has a dvd of the live concert they did in Melbourne. They also have bought out the 30th anniversary of Primitive Man which I also have and there other album Whiteheat.
My favourite song from Icehouse is Nothing to serious and Anybodys War. Mr Big, We Cross The Border.

Always. Currently, it's Amon Amarth.

Yep. Had a really long Beatles obsession. Right now it's Cosmo Jarvis.

For the past few years, it's been Yellow Magic Orchestra. Before that, as a kid for some reason I was obsessed with the Monkees, but that was like 7-8 years old. But for me, Yellow Magic Orchestra. YMO is one of those bands nobody else around me understands, but I like "get them" completely, I feel. My username is actually a name of a Yellow Magic Orchestra song.

I don't get why more people don't like YMO, it's pretty "arty" in every sense. I guess it works out for me, as that makes the vinyl cheap. I hope the hipsters only start liking them after I buy all the YMO vinyl I want. But yeah, YMO is just fantastic. It's like, music from the future, but from the past. They got like, this great dystopian feel to their music, but at the same time, their music doesn't feel "doom" like either, it's just almost stating the Brave New World of technological dystopia as a fact of life. That, and they're quite musically versatile, I think. They managed to make pretty poppy records that were still awesome, and then great arty stuff, and then Sakamoto's solo stuff is all over, he's a genius, and he's amazing at piano compositions, too.

But yeah, I've not met anyone who enjoys Yellow Magic Orchestra as much as I. HOWEVER, I did once meet someone who enjoyed eurobeat as much as me, and it was the best thing ever, it was extremely odd, it was a 60ish year old Italian man who spoke kinda bad English, I gave him a ride and had my eurobeat on and he was like "TURN IT UP" and started fist pumping to it. Other than that, it seems nobody understands me and my music. I'm sad now.

Justifiable "" imo.

They're one of the 100 reasons why I never listen to the local radio.

Can honestly say that I have listened to just about every released song by Depeche Mode without paying for any of it, thanks to the magic of youtube.

I think I belong in this group

But does everyone here's favourite interests include bands only? I might not get an answer, but I'll ask.

Yes! This is me all over. I was obsessed from about 14 to 19 with the Beatles. I still love them and know everything about them, but I have moved on to other obsessions. Now it's Muse though I'm still obsessing a bit over The Killers.

I listen to OneRepublic a lot when I write, and listen to some of the music from Coldplay. But OneRepublic is definitely my current obsession; I feel my AS can relate to the messages of some of their songs.

I am always obsessed with a different band, it changes quite a bit. I have always been madly obsessed with Modest Mouse as long as I can remember though.
