Several new albums have come out this week that I've really enjoyed. I liked Daughter's If You Leave, Emma Louise's Vs Head Vs Heart and Justin Timberlake's The 20/20 Experience. I have to listen to the first two a bit more to get more of an opinion on them. With the latter, Tunnel Vision and Don't Hold The Wall are highlights.
One album I really got into this week was Phosphorescent's Muchacho. This is the first album I've heard by them though it's their sixth record; a polished, warm Americana record in the vein of Midlake or Villagers, with some really gorgeous instrumentation to boot, such as on the albums best song, Song for Zula.
I also have really enjoyed Kacey Musgrave's Same Trailer Different Park. It's a very pop oriented American country music album straight out of Nashville and not something I'd normally listen to, but decided to give it a go based on the strength of the earlier released single Merry Go 'Round. I can see Kacey becoming a big star in her home country and wouldn't be surprised if this has the same impact as Taylor Swift's 2006 debut.
