I know of lots of music most people haven't heard of, though not sure its all nesisarily indie...anyways some I can think of are. The Black Angels, The Growlers, Black Mountain, Wooden Shjips, Singapore Sling, The Dolly Rocker Movement...that is just a few, unless you've heard those already.

An indie band that most have probably heard of but most are probably not aware that they are still active and making great music is PUSA.

Their last two albums, both financed via pledgemusic this year, were really great.

1 drum kit + 2 guitar bodies + 3 guys + 5 guitar strings (still) = pure frosting!

Toh Kay is also pretty great if you like acoustic stuff. yo, clickity!
