I am listening to my laptop's fan, the keys being tapped on my keyboard, the hum of cars and trucks on the highway, the random popping of some debris in the vents of the building's hvac unit, a helicopter overhead,a leaf flapping by the window,a constant dull whirring in my ears that gets louder when I yawn...all very annoying sounds when heard at the same time...and you expect me to socialize at the same time!! !! 8O

Get double glazed windows, my landlord installed them cut the sound down by about half. Alternatively these are a very well priced pair of overear headphones https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-201-L ... B0007XJSQC

Can cost less than $20 some places or on sale. Some sounds annoy the c*ap out of me as well. Would much rather listen to music than hear random noises outside.

-Highlights from my favorite poem by Shakespeare, The Phoenix and the Turtle [dove], thought by some to be about Queen Elizabeth I and Robert Devereux (2nd Earl of Essex). In any case it is allegorically about the death of an ideal love.

ASD, unofficially on online tests: 38 of 50. I don't function well. The huge impact on my life affects me more than "38". "Other" confounds and compounds, as well as expectations from others who can't see it.
