What's up guys? This is KDS.

Sorry I haven't posted for so long because I'm not a fan of this site anymore and I don't know why. Probably because it's different than the blogging website I use, also known as Wordpress.

But I need help with something that I've wanted to do for about 3 years now and counting: Writing books and becoming an author. Are any of you guys writers? If yes do you have any inspirational advice for me?

I also would want to know if you're a writer AND if you ARE doing anything currently to pursue that type of dream!

Any replies are welcomed! I will try to post on Wrong Planet again so I can not only get more known but also so that way I can continue to inspire other people like me!

Wish me luck to seeing what the future will hold for not only me but ALL of us as well!

not exactly a writer, but shortfilmmaker... and scriptwriter, for that purpose.
here's inspiration: do what steinbeck did, and pick some grapes, do what alvin toffler did, and work in a factory, do what william burroughs did and do junk. (no, don't do the last one)

experience something worth reading about, become an expert in entomology and walk across the country on foot.
or just write about dragons or vampires.

Best advice I can give you is don't bother waiting for inspiration. If you do, you'll never get anything done. Just do it.

Also, don't write stories with the intention of "making history." Don't even let that thought cross your mind. Don't even write because you want to be a published author. The only reason you should have for writing a story is because it's a story you want to tell. To answer your last question, that's where real inspiration comes from. Anything else is counterfeit inspiration, for lack of a better word, and it's glaringly obvious from the first page. If you want proof, just look at the Young Adult section of any Barnes and Noble and take a count of how many books on there sound exactly the same.

Who was it who said that writing was 2% inspiration and 98% transpiration? :?:
