To all you Aspies and autistics out there, I'm wondering what styles of music you enjoy and which bands/artists you're fans of. I guess my tastes would loosely be described as alternative rock. Here is my list of top bands:

Imagine Dragons
Twenty One Pilots
Bring Me the Horizon
Coldplay
Simple Plan
Linkin Park

They're who I've been listening to a lot lately. So, which bands/songs do you fangirl and obsess over?
All the best,
Rachel

A band that inspires me to the max, is Pennywise. They have songs that relate to me.

These are some songs that I like from them, that get me.

I was lucky enough to see them live in Vancouver, BC in 2014. It was the first time I ever traveled far away to a big city by myself, and it was the most amazing concert I had ever seen, and trust me, I've seen all sorts of low end concerts, and even big ones like Megadeth. I have never felt so accepted in any one place ever in my life. I even got Pennywise's logo tattooed on my leg. If Pennywise was a religion, you bet your ass I'd be a disciple.

I am in love with classic rock. Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, The Rolling Stones, Kansas, The Who, Dire Straits, The Clash, Eagles, etc. Did I mention Led Zeppelin? They are the absolute best band ever in my opinion. As a teenager, none of my peers know my favorite bands but man do i connect with teachers and adults. I absolutely love classic rock.

I'm kinda apprehensive to mention this, but my favourite two genres are '80s synthpop and '90s/early 2000s R&B. I know that especially the latter isn't particularly popular on the message boards I visit, but I really like listening to singers like Ginuwine, Aaliyah, Sisqo, and early Usher. My favourite period for this genre is from 1996-2003, starting with the rise of Timbaland and Darkchild as producers and ending with the introduction of crunk to the mainstream when you got artists like Chris Brown and Ciara (both of whom I didn't care for).

I do however enjoy quite a lot of other genres, even if I mostly use mainstream radio for exposure to new stuff. Some of my favourite artists and bands include: George Michael (I love his voice, enjoy his early Wham! stuff as well as his first three solo albums), Madonna (especially her 80s songs, but I also think 'Ray of Light' is great), Live, Skunk Anansie, Arctic Monkeys, Queens of the Stone Age, Living Colour, Deep Purple, Curtis Mayfield, Janis Joplin, early Mariah Carey, Gossip, M.I.A., Culture Club, Spandau Ballet, and Duran Duran.

SnailHail, I think you have a cool and eclectic taste in music. Nice to see that you listen to Toki and Hiatus Kaiyote. I was introduced to both of them through soul singer Anderson .Paak. Specifically to these songs of theirs:

I love it!

I also really like Eliza Doolittle. Pity we haven't heard much from her since her collab with Disclosure back in 2013. Check out her cover of 'Always Be My Baby':

Thanks, I am constantly seeking out new artist probably because I have a bad case of FOMO and I don't want to get burnt out on the songs I already listen to. That live version of Molasses sounds even better than the studio version!

Have you ever heard of Little Dragon? I think you might like them, they do some alternative R&B and Soul and you can feel it in their songs. I also suggest you take a look at Thundercat he's an artist similar to Hiatus Kaiyote and Anderson Paak. I discovered Anderson Paak through Hiatus Kaiyote but not through the song he was in, it was because I saw his Malibu album in the recommended section while I was listening to Hiatus Kaiyote and I thought eh why the heck not  .

I like all sorts. To name a few. A lot of bands would be classified as either "jam" or "psytrance". Two styles of music that not a lot of people know or get very interested in.

The Cure
God Is An Astronaut
Infected Mushroom
Astral Projection
Phish
Shpongle
Disco Biscuits
The Smiths

Going to concerts is one of the few activities I leave my house for.
