Hiya. I'm trying to compile a long enough list of songs to fill out a standard CD. My idea is for it to be a mixture of different songs (artists, genres, etc.) all with this undefinable "Aspie thing"/outsider mentality in common. I think the following do that:

Tubeway Army: Praying to the Aliens
Radiohead: Paranoid Android
Tears for Fears: Mad World
The Smiths: Ask
Pulp: Common People

What more? - some Kraftwerk, Devo, Vines? And which songs then? Help me out. Any form of recommendation appreciated.

Massive Attack:

Group four
Black milk
Teardrop

Radiohead:

Street Spirit (fade out)
Bulletproof
Fake plastic trees
How to disappear completely
Treefingers
Paranoid android
Subterranean homesick alien
Lucky
The tourist
Climbing up the walls

Smashing pumpkins:

Blue skies bring tears (ordinary version and both acoustic ones)

Just....don't ask me why. This has little to do with outsider mentality, more with the way these songs make me feel.

Might as well drop the pretense and call it "A variety of songs that have nothing to do with each other except for the fact that they have nothing to do with each other". You'll end up with the same result.

Gogol Bordello - Immigrant Punk

Gloria Mundi - Temporary Hell

Cop Shoot Cop - Traitor/Martyr

Chrome Don't Move Like That (Don't Dance Like That)

Anything by Bjork, Tool, or anybody at the forefront of where art and music meet. Especially downtempo/chillout/ambient stuff....

Gary Numan's "Trilogy" albums :Sacrifice, Exile, and Pure,
all albums by They Might Be Giants, most of The Cure's discography, The Pixies, the Smiths, Depeche Mode, The Dead Milkmen,
the Shadow of the Colossus OST by Koh Otani, (brilliant!) and of course, "Weird Al".
Albequerke, anyone?

Totally agreed.... Incidently I'm not even bothered if the music I listen to is made by outsiders or deals with aspergers related issues at all.
