I see the benefit, it sits in the mix without too much trouble. Not super familiar with mics but would I be right to guess it's got a bit of built-in compression?
I got a plug-in that does proximity effect. I used that, a leveller and a tape emulator that adds some compression (basically like recording to tape). The problem was lack of proximity effect that a dynamic mic would normally give.
The plug-in 'fixes' the mic, so to speak.
There isn't even any reverb or delay on the main vocals.
