I grew up in Werribee and travelled by train to Geelong. During the filming of Mad Max (The Road Warrior in USA) Max's interceptor was often parked outside the Railway hotel along with the occasional Main Force Patrol pursuit car, with a gaggle of schoolboys gawking at them. Anarchy road was really named Anakie road and the cop shop was really Newport's disused power station. This clip by The Dark Clouds (from Wollongong) brings back many memories. The second link is an album.

Since I'm stuck in solitary I'll post some extras. And while I'm looking at such class acts, you ought to love this Melbourne band. Garlic Nun. Links to 2 singles, then an album.

I can only find these 3 non live songs by old school Melbourne punks No Idea (yeah yeah... duplicate name) so I'm adding an album by the Packets who are also obviously Melbourne based judging by Freddy Negro's artwork on the album cover.

Good morning WP, Discogs list Melbourne band Marching Orders as an Oi band and whereas they do look like a bunch of skinheads, and espouse oi culture, they seem identically caring and politically motivated to the punk culture I grew up with. From a music perspective they have none of the monotony that turns me off what I consider to be oi music, and none of the violent memes that were associated with skins in my day. They have an extensive discography and a lot of nostalgia generating lyrics for any Melbourne locals. 2 album links here, but there are a metric craptonne more.

I have few bones to pick with Melbourne band Slick 46. The first is their use of an escape character to insert apostrophes into their song titles, which clearly isn't working on YouTube. The other, (and I'm clearly being pedantic here) is with Felicity Buckingham's parents for naming a girl child Felicity. I cannot help but spoonerise in my head and that just seems so disrespectful to an obviously talented musician... But quite obviously the problem is with me. So.... Sorry Facility! Theres only the one album...linked

Sorry for missing my morning post WP. My researching just wasn't paying off. I rejected several bands who claimed to be punk, but I couldn't agree. I guess some peoples definitions are WAY wider than mine. I've settled on this Sydney band who aren't quite my style, but they sure as hell tick the distortion box. I thought "Chrissy Dins" was too timely to pass up Daughter Bat & The Lip Stings 2 EP links

Another Merry Christmas WP, Lets do the time travel thing back to 76/77 Brisbane for the Leftovers. These tracks are on the same playlist with another Leftovers track, a good version of X's degenerate boy and a comedian punk, Doug Mulray track that was big on the radio in the day. I think I'll embed that too.
