i'm hoping this will be a casual, interesting thread.

I saw Paramore recently...quite interesting.
I wouldn't straight up say the Paramore Honda Civic show was a complete and utter piece of perfection, but it was a decent piece of excitement. actually it was damn good, except for the slight unfortunate thing when me and my bf got to the san jose venue and missed this really cool opening act called Katawatha (at least i got to catch a really cool dramatic closing statement in which the frontchick/guy flopped onto the ground)...and they apparently were picking up a darn good following according to what seemed to be going around the pavillion. anyway, the two other acts were new found glory and tegan and sarah, both going pretty darn long, although i would say tegan and sarah were bomb despite their lack of consideration for time, a few boring and hard-to-follow pieces and other stuff just before paramore ROCKED THE STAGE like it should have been theirs in the first place! Every single stage tech backup to enhance the experience and Hayley Williams' energy was just awesome.
Of course the whole time i was yelling the lyrics at the topics at the top of my lungs no matter what act it was and what song i did and didn't like that i knew. Figures if you get to know me, or know me already.

****. really good if you can stand a three or four or whatever hour concert. drink all the caffeine you can if the concert drains you and wear earplugs but whatever you do GO SEE PARAMORE BEFORE YOU DIE. really. guaranteed or your money back.

yeah i'm exaggerating....thanks for reading and share your last tour experience!

Went to see Deftones on Tuesday and it was amazing!

I was right in the front, it was at a small bar called Northern Lights and you had to stand. Anyway I was in the front and was getting shoved into the barricade the whole night...Crowd surfing was nuts and a midget with pierceing went up like 4x. It was so hot that Chino (lead singer) threw buckets of water into the crowd along with the security popping holes in bottles and spraying the crowd every once in a while. I saw many hot girls, some with their top off  And I just basically rocked out the whole time with my 2 buddies that came along and another kid we met. I also got to slap Chino's hand a couple times and look right at him as he lowered the mic basically right at me but for the crowd to sing a part of "Be Quiet and Drive (Far Away)" Overall it was the most crazy concert I went to but obviously the most fun and one of the most memorable nights of my life.

I think the last concert I went to was Legendary Pink Dots in Minneapolis in 1996.

I am SO JEALOUS of you. I would kill to see Deftones.

As for me, I used to go to shows all the time but being a poor student has made me stop. :(
I was in a music video about a month ago, does that count? haha

My last was Nickelback. I bought my gf tickets last valentines day as she loves them. I'm not a particularly big fan but I thought they were really good live and enjoyed it. We had a good view, not to close or far away. I like live music and find I can just get lost in the music and not worry about all the people etc like I do when I'm out wearing headphones. I would love to see Maroon 5 next year when their on tour, Pink and Jack Johnson again

I was at a Trans Siberian Orchestra concert. I think I was only in the 7th row and I got to meet the band!

Last concert I went to was Angus & Julia Stone at Wollongong Uni Bar. They were fantastic, and in my opinion one of the best live Australian acts at the moment.

Concerts attended in 2010

the last concert i attended was Down With Webster. i won a trip to bigger canadian city to see them play. the place was overrun with teenaged girls, which prompted my husband to ask whether we were experiencing a boy band. i love the band, but the atmosphere was just too young. we didn't stay long, but the trip was totally worth it!

I believe the last concert I went to was Bruce Springsteen last October. BEST concert I've ever seen - and I've been to a lot!

can't say i've ever been to a concert per se, other than the school-sponsored ones i had to attend because i belonged to the school concert band, back in the stoned age. the only live music performance venues i've even been to, were in 1983 at the central tavern in seattle ["seattle's only 2nd-class tavern"] to see charlie musselwhite and his smoking hot blues band, and in 1992 at st. james cathedral in seattle to attend some kind of catholic processional service, with swinging censers emanating holy smoke and ethereal, gravely sepulchral pipe organ vibrations wafting through the air commingling with the smoke in a big ball of heavenly emulation of the bright world above.

Many years ago, a Nina Simone concert. She gave the "white people" a piece of her mind, putting it mildly, and then refused to perform the concert. :?

The last show I went to was Weird Al a few years back; I don't remember exactly when. He's really good live, and the show's worth the price of admission definitely. However, I got stuck next to a guy who sang every word of every song. It's like going to a comedy club and trying to be funnier than the comic. Everyone but you just gets really annoyed.

saw pink floyd during the 1987 tour. just stunning in every parameter. i had a serious leg injury and had this over-the- top latest technology bone healing pulse devise. had a battery pack and charger. lots of hardware in a backpack. so,
i added a 12 volt powered small he-ne laser i had put together. never thought i could get in with it, looked like a small bomb of sorts. never could pull this off after 9-11. lasers were still rare items in those days and solid state lasers were not available.

i had been performing laser shows in clubs and with some bands before being murdered. i had he-ne (red) and argon
(blue-green 532nm) lasers. powerful for those days. put the battery powered laser together for fun, to use in the car. this was so long ago, i would meet humans who had not seen a laser before.

so, pink floyd took a long break half way through performance. when they were returning to the stage, all the lights were tuned off. this was a 25,000 seat arena and i was sitting in the back, half way from floor. p.f. had a large screen behind the stage. i powered up the laser and started making designs on the screen while all lights were off. there were cheers all around, especially when i started sweeping the beam across the crowd sitting on the sides.

people sitting around me thought i was with the band. one really beautiful girl wanted me to take her backstage. she promised i would not be sorry if i did. oh, if only.

when the stage lights came on and p.f. started playing, i cut the power. it wasn't long till security came looking for me. by then i had moved over about 30 seats. with my leg gear, i was overlooked so i got to see the rest of the concert. david gilmore commented on what happened just before they started playing comfortably numb. what fun.
my best time ever at a concert.

i assume people use diode flashlight lasers all the time at concerts now. in 1987, no one dreamed about such devices. huge glass tube lasers were it. 'what a drag it is getting old'-r.s.

I saw a band called Steeldrivers in Nashville with my mom last weekend, they were supposedly a "bluegrass" band and I really don't like bluegrass but they actually were awesome. I wouldn't call it bluegrass per se, more like alt-country with a bluegrass arrangement.

The mandolin player was a dead ringer for Hank Hill but like 60 years old, he was belligerently drunk and shouted at some dude in the crowd on two different occasions. I have no idea what the guy did to deserve it but it was hysterical either way.

A couple weeks before that I saw Atmosphere in Indianapolis, one of the very best shows I ever saw. It was a GA show and I'm not big on huge standing room only crowds, but this venue had a balcony overlooking the stage with a bunch of seating and 2 bars including an awesome micro bar. I watched in comfort on the balcony and drank tons of obscure microbrews and tequila shots, did some people-watching, met a bunch of super friendly people, it was great.

My wanna-be-gangster friend took me to a Tech N9ne concert. I despise rap to begin with, and he basically forced me to go. So, on my way there I had forgot my wallet at his girlfriend's house and he was bitching about that, we get there and have to stand in the boiling heat, I have no cigarettes to smoke because the girl that did have them left them in the car. We get in, have to stand for I don't even know how many hours, listening to this terrible music, and being shoved around by people who wanted to get up closer to the stage. When we finally got back in the car, I wanted a cigarette, but he was like, "NO! WE DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME BEFORE MY CURFEW!". We drop off the girl who had cigarettes, and I was left craving. He decides to b***h at me the whole way back to his girlfriend's house about my depression, my problem with cutting, and my cigarette addiction, which his advice was, "Get over it". Yeah, I didn't have enough time to smoke a cigarette before his curfew, which was 11, but he had a whole hour to f**k his girlfriend in the car without asking me politely to leave, they just started right in front of me. We get back to his place, and by this time I just wanna kill him, and all of that wasn't enough. He gets home, and his dad reprimands him for not being home on time and he flipped out on him. I booked it out of there. One of the worst nights of my life.
