One fine time some years ago, I was able to see the one and only
Bruce ("The Boss") Springsteen with the one and only E Street Band
(featuring the late "Big Guy" Clarence...darn, I can't remember his
surname...on saxophone, Patti Scialfa, Max Weinburg--aka "Smacks"--on drums,
that E Street Band.)

The thing I remember best about that night was that the Toronto Blue Jays
were coming from behind during Game 2 of the 1992 World Series against
the Atlanta Braves during the intermission of that concert.

I went to a bluegrass jamboree once. Apparently I was related to the band somehow, because they all knew me 8O. As for actual concerts, I went to my first concert earlier this month: Josh Groban. He's just awesome. "Yes, drink plenty of milk. I've never woken up naked on the floor from milk."

Styx, on the "Kilroy Was Here" tour.

Weird Al Yankovic, twice ("In 3-D" and "Dare To Be Stupid").

Type O Negative, on the "World Coming Down" tour (one of the last shows at Seattle's Rock Candy Club before it closed down - loved that bass!).

I'd like to see Rush, but I keep hearing that the audience tends to - well - indulge in certain burning herbs, and I'm allergic.

The only concert I've ever seen (not including dinky little school concerts, which don't count) was Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. I saw them 2 years ago at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. Even though I find a lot of his songs boring (there are also a lot that that I love, but I haven't really been listening to him much lately for some reason), he and his band were amazing in concert. They performed for 2 hours and 45 minutes straight without an opening act! It was an amazing feeling, all the cheering and singing along. It was incredibly loud, but in a good way. It was definitely a night I'll never forget! Aside from being a very talented multi-instrumentalist and songwriter, he is also an amazing philanthropist, who donates some of the proceeds from all his concerts to a charity that's in the area he's performing. It's amazing that he still has that much energy at 61 years old. Clarence Clemons was the world's greatest saxophonist, but unfortunately he died of a stroke on June 18, 2011. (Wow, I'm only 16 and someone I saw in concert is already dead! That sucks!) Anyway, that was one of the greatest nights of my life.

Rush is one of my very favourite bands and I'd love to see them in concert. I've heard that people smoke weed at almost every concert, but I didn't see or smell any when I saw Bruce Springsteen. It seems funny that people smoke weed at every concert, because you think it would just be the druggy bands like Pink Floyd, Phish, and The Grateful Dead. You'd think since weed mellows you out, people who smoke weed would only listen to gentle bands and folk musicians like Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and The Moody Blues. I'd love to try weed sometime, but I wouldn't want to during a concert in case I got so high that I wouldn't be able to remember what happened.
