Same here. One of Megadeth's finest songs.

In my attempts to create such a list, a year ago I went and listened to every record I owned or had, giving each record a score and a two-sentence writeup that described my reaction to the record (sounds very stereotypically Aspie, does it not...). Of course, such a project became overly ambitious and I only have fragments of it remaining.

According to the data that I did gather, all of these records are essential listening (i.e. I gave them a 90 or higher on a 100-point scale):

Andrew Bird - Mysterious Production of Eggs
Arcade Fire - Funeral
The Beatles - The Beatles
Broken Social Scene - Broken Social Scene
The Clash - Sandinista!
The Clash - London Calling
Deerhoof - The Runners Four
Brian Eno - Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy)
The Fall - Hex Endunction Hour
The Fiery Furnaces - Blueberry Boat
The Flaming Lips - Transmissions From the Satellite Heart
Godspeed You! Black Emperor - Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven
Grandaddy - The Sophtware Slump
Guided By Voices - Isolation Drills
Interpol - Turn on the Bright Lights
The Kinks - Lola vs. Powerman vs. the Money-go-Round
The Mekons - Retreat From Memphis
Modest Mouse - This is a Long Drive for Someone with Nothing to Think about
Modest Mouse - Building Nothing out of Something
Modest Mouse - The Moon and Antarctica

And it temporarily ends there. I eventually get back in the groove aroun the Rs, and stop as abruptly as I started:

R.E.M - Life's Rich Pageant
R.E.M. - New Adventures in Hi-Fi
They Might Be Giants - John Henry
Sebadoh - III
Sigur Ros - takk...
Spoon - Kill The Moonlight
Spoon - Telephono

Far too many more... but that list's a good beginning.

I wouldn't ask anyone to listen to any album, no matter how wonderful or classic I feel it is, unless I knew them personally and thought that they would like it given their personal taste. You can give me practically any "classic" album and chances are I won't like it because I have such narrow taste.
