I'm into anything with clever lyrics and/or some other kind of geniusness. So a lot of comedy-oriented music (Flight of the Conchords, Weird Al Yankovic, Tenacious D, Stephen Lynch and so forth), other odd music (Zappa, Boingo, Beck, et.c.), unique hip hop acts (such as Ugly Duckling, The Weather, Quasimoto, Necro and stuff) a bit of classical and jazz and showtunes and big beat and...well, I suppose genre doesn't really matter to me.

My last.fm page has the answer to that question, but the short answer is alternative rock and indie rock. And Pink Floyd. Alot of Pink Floyd.

Almost anything. I don't like punk that much, except maybe for Green Day, because their lyrics have some substance. I also like Rage Against the machine for the same reason. Other than that, Linkin Park, POD, Korn, Disturbed, and similars. Radiohead is also a favourite.

And that's just the rock types.

I prefer to judge and like songs and not bands. Even with my favourite bands there are songs i don't like and others I like very much.

I like most kinds of music (except country, rap and pop). My favorite kinds of music though is jazz and the many genres of rock. The jazz i like could be considered "modern" jazz (jazz that became well known after the war). I guess you could say i like everything from bebop on. Don't get me wrong, i like dixieland and swing, but i prefer the complexity and intriquite (sp) style of more modern jazz. The rock i like is everything from oldies to classic rock to thrash metal. I have very eclectic tastes. I also like classical and ethnic music. I love Indian Raga music like Ravi Shankar. That type of music is so out there.

Hmm. A very small sample will have to do.

AFI
Amy Winehouse
Angelspit
Atreyu
Bob Dylan
Coheed and Cambria
CKY
Crossfade
Dio
Eric Clapton
Fiction Plane
Gary Numan
Gravity Kills
Incubus
Marilyn Manson
Megadeth
Mindless Self Indulgence
Nine Inch Nails
Ra
The Traveling Wilburys
Threat Signal

I also like the voice of the guy from Nickelback (Chad Kroeger?), but I hate their stupid songs. He did a song with Santana which was pretty awesome.

I guess I like hard alternative rock and bluesy/folk music. Yes, to hear my iTunes is to experience severe genre shock.

I'm a metalhead through and through, but I have a soft spot for some less aggressive stuff like Bayside, 30 Seconds to Mars, and 10 Years.
Some metal bands I like are Dark Tranquility, Arch Enemy, Dragonforce, Mayhem, Rammstein, 1349, Edguy, and Wintersun.
I also like to listen to some trance every now and then. Oh, and I like classical too, usually Beethoven and Bach.

I'll put my iPod on my favourites playlist which randomly plays music I've rated four to five stars.

Clare Bowditch - Little Black Cave
Feist - Inside & Out
Carla Bruni - Lady Weeping At The Crossroads
Jen Cloher - The Longing Song
Missy Higgins - Stuff & Nonsense
George - Change
Sarah Blasko - At Your Best
Amy Winehouse - You Know I'm No Good
Nina Nastasia - Counting Up Your Bones
Cat Power - Evolution
Lisa Miller - Words For Sadness
Regina Spektor - Summer In The City
The Audreys - Monster
Neil Young - Out On The Weekend
Beth Orton - Blood Red River

A fair sample of my reasonably large music collection. A bit of a preference for softer music with a melodic focus, a female vocalist and for Australian music.
