I've been playing guitar on and off since I was in my teens, but seriously for the last four years or so. I did my first open mic the other week and I got invited back, so I figure I must be doing something right! (How well do I play? As a great man once said..."I can't play like Segovia. The flip side of that is that Segovia could probably never have played like me."
)
Also, 'cello. I have lessons every two weeks and I'm currently working on my first extension, which - while I'm not going in for exams at the moment - I'm told is around a grade 2 level. I've only been playing since the start of this year, so that's pretty good progress, but my teacher tells me adult learner quite often learn quickly enough to skip some grades. Plus, the fact that I already play guitar means my left hand is quite strong, which is also an advantage.
