Favorite how?

I didn't vote because I would have to say English; it's my mother tongue this time around. (Thanks to the gods, the goddesses, and the Universe, because I would hate to have had to learn it as a second language!)

English aside, I think kanji and kana are by far the visually most beautiful.

Devanagari would be my second choice as most beautiful.

Greek (the ancient language) and Hebrew "call" to me and always have--ever since I was a very small child.

And I like the look of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs as well.

Cuneiform (ancient Middle Eastern languages) too.

A most interesting topic, matsuiny.

Kana I like because it contains the beauty of east-asian glyphs w/o all the trouble of learning one for each word. Kanji I could probably do without... :P

Roman lettering (AKA English, spanish, german, etc) seems to be the dominant written language, though, & with good reason.

Hebrew and Greek....
The romance languages
and Egyptian hieroglyphs.

I obviously like the Greek/Hebrew and the romance languages due to their similarities and patterns they follow.
I esp like Hebrew and Hieroglyphs because they open to many different interpretation... I could go on and on about the inaccuracies of biblical translations...

Despite the beauty of Chinese and Japanese Kanji, I like hangul better.
It's the most efficient alphabet in the world, and is consequently excellent for keyboarding.
It was invented by King Sejong, to try to portray visually the shape of the lips and mouth when pronouncing each sound.
So, it can be seen as an attempt to scientifically create an alphabet from scratch.
Sejong invented hangul in order to help commoners become literate quickly and easily. Something that is still incredibly difficult in China and Japan. (Did you hear about how the PM of Japan keeps misreading Kanji at public events, and consequently faces bullying and mockery from his political enemies?)
Hangul seems so modern to me in style, I joke that it looks kryptonian.
But in calligraphy, the style is usually much more rustic and charming.

Mine wasn't listed; it's Hebrew. Written Hebrew letters look very beautiful. It's very nice to see how a language that's been dead for 2,000 years (similar to how Latin is a dead language now) has been brought back to life. In fact, when I traveled to Israel, it was very nice to see Hebrew being used in daily life; before then, I only saw it written in prayer books and on a few kosher food packages.

Armenian, Ethiopic, Hebrew, Arabic, and Tibetan are the coolest-looking languages.

My favorite scripts are Hebrew and Devangari. And Armenian looks really neat too so, I thank Delirium for enlightening me to it.

I forgot Mongolian!

The traditional script (not the Soviet-imposed Cyrillic lettering).

It's vertical! The letters in any word are connected to each other vertically, instead of horizontally the way just about every other "connected" script does it.

(Obviously, I know that languages like Japanese, Chinese, etc. are often written in vertical columns, but when this is the case, the individual characters are not connected vertically--except in certain highly stylized Japanese art. But in traditional Mongolian, they are connected to each other, just like when we handwrite English in our traditional way.)

Traditional Mongolian looks so neat!! !

Greek and Sanskrit for me. I love Japanese kanji and Cyrillic as well, but the difficulty of learning them made me less likely to embrace them. :P Hope that doesn't happen for the former when I begin to learn them. 8O

Hangul is just perfect! It's neat, it's complete, it's compact, it's efficient, it's beautiful, it's straightforward.
If ever humankind attains a common language for all nations, it MUST be written in hangul.
