That dumbass Oompa Loompa song from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory is ear poison to me and I don't even remember any of the other songs from the movie. The Oompa Loompa songs from Charlie And The Chocolate Factory are far more entertaining IMO and they were actually based off of the songs from the original book, each one with its own unique sound instead of the copy and paste BS from Willy Wonka.

Andy Biersack and Black Veil Brides annoy me music wise and no, I don't consider them to be metal. When I think of metal, I think Pantera, not Black Veil Brides.

I wouldn't consider this an unpopular opinion. BVB are metalcore, Pantera is METAL! \m/ \m/

BVB will never be metal either, because "you can't be something you're not."

Not a fan of metal core like that. But BVB is beyond overratted.

^Pantera isn't metalcore, BVB is. And I agree, BVB are overrated.

Oh I know Pantera isn't metal, but I heard someone say BVB at one point glam metal.

I never get the appeal for BVB in all due honesty.

Stephanie Germanotta needs to stick to the classics.

Shout is DEVO's best album.
POLYSICS are not a DEVO ripoff.
I really hate heavy metal, because of the fanbase.
Drukqs was Aphex Twins best album.
Metallica's Master of Puppets is awful.
Rap is pretty cool.

Speaking as a metal fan, I can't blame you for disliking the fanbase. While I enjoy the music itself, I think much of the fanbase is overly elitist, and I have a bone to pick with the large amounts of racism, sexism, and homophobia that are present in the scene. I enjoy the music for its intensity and technicality, not because I'm a poseur trying to look tough.

I still need to listen to Drukqs, but I'm glad to see another fellow AFX fan here. :D Devo are pretty awesome as well.

Load is awesome aside from "2x4", that was a weak track that could've been omitted in favor of keeping the long version of "The Outlaw Torn". Reload I'm not as big on, though it does have some of Metallica's most experimental material ever, including the highly underrated classic "Low Man's Lyric".

Also, "The Unforgiven II" > "The Unforgiven". Fight me.

You're not wrong there. Didn't care for Blur either, personally.

I agree that Reload is weaker than Load, because it doesn't have the same consistent quality of songs. I'm not really sure how I would categorize the Load/Reload albums - are they rock? Metal? Sludge? They kind of have elements of several genres and sub-genres. I'm still kind of shocked at how much hate both of these albums get, because it feels like something of a natural progression from the black album.

Everyone loves the Black album, yet it sounds more commercial than anything they'd done prior. It sounds nothing like And Justice For All or Master of Puppets or Ride the Lightning. The Black Album was a needed progression from what they'd done prior, and no one complained about it. So, I still don't understand how people make the argument that the Load albums were "sellouts," since a significant portion of criticism at the time had more to do with how the band members dressed, rather than the kind of music they were playing.

in the 50s, count basie did some quasi-rockin' things with his drummer and arranger.

I classify Load and Reload as alternative rock, though you're right in saying that they don't necessarily fit in one genre or another, since they flirt with so many different sounds. For a while Load was actually my favorite Metallica album, since it dared to be different and it was jam packed with good material.

I consider Black Album and Death Magnetic to be Metallica's biggest sellout records, IMO. BA because it's the most commercial, radio-friendly thing they've ever done, and DM because it was an obvious attempt at pandering to their old fans. That's not to say they're bad albums, as they have quite a bit of good material, they're just not as heavy as their 80s stuff, or as experimental as what they released in between BA and DM. I think Metallica should heed their own advice, and "take more risks" like they dared Megadeth to in the late 90s.
