There are some bloody talented people on here!

Here are my rough-around-the-edges demos I did a while back. I did the music and the production but got a mate to sing.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/6ayemvt5f9p21 ... le%209.mp3
https://www.dropbox.com/s/2gdeer3k4w2lp ... ounded.mp3 (Never got around to putting any vocals on this one. Might one day).

Please let me know what you think. :)

Please give feedback on any of the songs you whim...I am currently looking for a rhythm guitarist (although I did the acoustic rhythm guitar on the ballad style improvisation), a drummer and a vocalist.

Here's a video of a song I wrote in 1994 as performed last Wednesday night at a regular weekly gig I have had going the past couple months at a local coffee shop.

Good use of distortion. Definitely noticing a pattern though: monotone doesn't make for good singing. That being said, I can do good death metal growls.

I am not "The Bicycling Singer." Still, I sing a LOT better than I used to. I cringe when I hear some of my recordings from the early 1990s. Btw, I don't use distortion. I play my Strat with the five-position pickup switch the second click from the front (I think that uses the first two pickups nearest the bridge). Both tone knobs are turned all the way up all the time. I use D'Addario XL light gauge strings starting with a .010" for the 1st string E. I use standard tuning and a Dunlop .73mm nylon pick. These have been my guitar settings for at least the past fifteen or twenty years.

For ten years I used a Pignose battery-powered amplifier on my bicycle, but it died after a crash I had this past summer (the crash was due to catastrophic equipment failure of an old brittle plastic clamp holding my bicycle lock to the seat post). I now use a Roland MicroCube that uses the same batteries (six AA) and is twice as big, twice as heavy but is much louder than the Pignose and has a lot more sound options. I use the "JC clean" channel most of the time, the tone right in the middle, a touch of reverb, a touch of phaser, and that's it!

For live shows I now have a cheap microphone, a mike stand and clamp, and plug the mike into a small Fender practice amp (visible by the front wheel of my bicycle in the following video). The guitar is plugged into my Roland MicroCube that is strapped onto the rear rack of the bicycle (hidden behind me in this video).

I wrote the following song in 1995, but this recording from a live show on October 31, 2012 is one of the best I've ever played it. Yeah I know I am not The Bicycling Singer. Still, I hope the lyrics are sung clearly enough to be understood. If not, well, the lyrics are printed in the description underneath the video if you watch it on YouTube.

The lyrics are quite good...I just think most of us here with a monotone wouldn't make for good singers. I can do good metal style vocals, but singing...not so much.

I don't play much now but here's my old band from back in 2005 or so. I'm on the drums.

Well done ArrantPariah!

This video I imagine many of you will love as atmospheric...I decided to take the premise of drone metal and added more neat distortion contrasts.

Should have some new Leviathan material soon :D

Also working on some solo material. Not gonna post here probably until I get the audio interface that has built in EQ channels...trying to get it to where I just have to have a drummer program some drums with it and we can use Bandcamp to give away 3 or 4 songs for free.

First part of a series where I take songs I like with lame basslines and make my own revised version.
