I've learnt all the Biochemistry I can handle for the moment. I'm taking a break with Schrödinger's beautiful "What is Life?".

By the way, who painted your avatar? It's lovely.

Some obsure artist called Micheal Endo. It's only valued at $1,600. I still really like it though

Thanks. I really like the quality of light in the painting.

I hope you enjoy it. I did... that and his subsequent books.

As did I.

I just finished Congratulations! It's Asperger Syndrome by Jen Birch. I feel like standing up and giving an applause for the author...for being persistent in the pursuit of life and happiness...She seems to be having a great life...Looks like aspies do achieve fulfilling lives in the end...Jerry Newport saying that aspies are social late bloomers and all...It was a sweet memoir, but there were disheartening parts which described some serious mistreatment the author went through... It took me some time to finish the book (about a month) because it was composed of somewhat fragmentalized listing of episodes, which didn't follow chronological order, but in the end did come together...

I've got so many options as to which book I will read next...however regarding AS, I'm thinking I'll start Tony Attwood's The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome.

Ah, how happy I am with my books...:)

I recommend "Freaks, Geeks and Asperger Syndrome", about AS adolescents, by an AS adolescent, and possibly "Asperger's in Love" for an example of challenges and benefits of an AS partner (note that the sample size was small and all participants were over 40).

Me as well. I have read the entire Sprawl trilogy, but really preferred Neuromancer out of them all. I am yet to read his other works.

The Elegance of the Hedgehog
I need to finish and move on to something else, but I just love it so much that I reread parts all over again.

The Lathe of Heaven - Ursula le Guin
Man who can alter reality by his uncontrolled dreams is manipulated by a well-meaning psychiatrist on a power-trip. The 'absolute power corrupts' theme mixes with an older sci-fi writing style that reminds me a bit of PKD in it's 'retro futurism'.

Bad Science by Ben Goldacre.

If you haven't read it already, you owe to yourself to read it. There's even a chapter about the MMR vaccine "controversy".

For anyone who is interested, I have just finished Our Mutual Friend by Charles Dickens. I've done a review on my book-reading blog.

Gourmet Rhapsody, which is also by the author who wrote The Elegance of the Hedgehog (which I finished on the 31st.)
