You won't find very much (if any) happy music in Pnk Floyd's music...

And here I thought I would be the only one who digs Simon and Garfunkle and Pink Floyd! It's some of the best depressing music ever written. However, i would probably choose "The Dangling Conversation" over "I Am A Rock". As for Pink Floyd, Just put on the entire "Dark Side of the Moon" album and let it play.

I really like music that can be refered to as depressing. I don't really find it that depressing though. I especially love singer/songwriters like Elliott Smith, Nick Drake, Simon and Garfunkel, Iron & Wine, Bright Eyes, Neil Young etc. I am currently trying to learn to sing and play Iron & Wine - The Sea and the Rhythm.

Where the Colors Don't Go - Sam Philips

I love this, but I do find it a little depressing. I first heard it watching the pilot episode of Gilmore Girls.

I don't know if it's the repetition in his music, or the sparseness. When I hear it, it makes me feel like life is over, like all is lost. I think it must be the music they play just as you're entering hell. On either side of the signpost "Abandon Hope All Ye Who Enter" are speakers blasting Phillip Glass music.

I still have a VHS tape of the whole thing. This is just the first few minutes without the video. The title is "Life out of Balance" in Hopi.
