This gem from Leon Redbone ended up as a BritRail commercial's theme :-)

Similar jazz to Grisman/Grappelli, but verrrrrrrrrry laid back... :-)

Here's the BritRail commercial just for fun. Short excerpt.

very good song.
i am in awe of people who can infuse emotion into their notes.
i can not do it.
i am just a robot.
one thing i will say is that i hate the sound of brass instruments.
there is just something about them which is sensorily unpleasant to me.
it's just an autistic idiosyncrasy in me however.

the piano is correctly reserved and is refrained from exploding into ragtime stuff like i always do.
it is very much more effective in eliciting emotions from people who have emotions.
i don't have emotions.
i find it boring and i wait for the time that it breaks out into sloppy blues-jazzy stuff, but it never happens.

i guess that is a quality i must learn.
reservedness.

ok here is something by joe cocker.
i think it is jazz but i am not sure.
i love the pianist.
he even kind of looks like me, but he obviously is much more talented.
cockers voice is unique and inspires his musicians i am sure because he knits the whole thing together.

this is very good to me.
i do not have a serene soul that can listen to delicate stuff.

i have to do a lead instrumental in my stuff so it can be understood.
with stuff i copy, i don't have to do the lead track because everyone knows the song anyway.

Hi b9,

I'm sorry I haven't been social in the past few days, nor have I had the opportunity to listen to your music you posted most recently, but I wanted to, at least, acknowledge seeing it, here, and, I am definitely looking forward to having a go at it, soon, if you don't mind leaving it up for a few more days. Thank you! Strangely, at times, I am unable to see videos that have been posted, and I see that you quoted one of my posts (as I am able to see my name), however, I don't see the actual video that you are referencing. Is it the Chet Baker song? Similar to you, perhaps, brass can grind on my nerves, depending on the pitch the piece is played in. I am unable to listen to screeching of a saxophone or trumpet, although, I enjoy both instruments. They are capable of triggering extreme, sensory overload, and an almost, unbearable, intense feeling in every nerve, in my body. Anyway, I think we are somewhat, similar, in terms of brass instruments. Not sure what time it is in your neck of the woods, but, I am off to sleep. See you and the others, soon, I hope, and thanks again, for sharing your music ^__^

Good morning!

b9 - I finally had the chance to sit down and give your multi-track post my full attention - didn't want to interrupt or disrupt listening. Wow. That was like getting an acoustic masterclass in how you compose. The best part was that after hearing each track separately I could instantly hear them all, working together, in the final song. (I can tease things apart fairly easily in most music but it can take a few listens - it's incredibly rewarding. But this was like having the score in my brain to refer to.)

Thank you for this and for the other goodies you've shared.

Hi Kelby, Hi Llama, I'm going to come back and check out what you've posted (the Joni Mitchell I have, but it's time I listened to it again - it never gets old.)

(Alexanderplatz?....)

Hi Esme. Sorry, I don't think I saw your post when I came by, the other night. I am still catching up, here, myself. I hope your week is off to great start. : ) I am on a short brake at work, but, hope to run into you, later, if you're around...!
