To Miss With Love, Katharine Birbalsingh, account / exposé of the reality of teaching in 21f Century Britain. Our place isn't as bad as hers but I can well imagine.

One Day, David Nicholls. Rom-com in the making.

And of course Sir Gawain over and over as I'm on with me translation; am now up to ~1600 lines of first draft. Not fair that the Pearl Poet could just spell words however he liked when he needed them to alliterate properly. :)

I just finished reading I Shall Wear Midnight by Terry Pratchett after Quatermass mentioned it on this thread and loved it. A delightful read. Now I'm reading The Poe Shadow by Matthew Pearl.

Im reading "pretending to be normal" by Lianne Holliday Willey and frankly...its annoys the h.ell out of me.

I enjoyed Aspergirls by Rudy Simone, that felt real,

for some reason "pretending to be normal" doesnt feel real to me.It feels like she has read up A LOT on AS and from experience with her daughter and based on her research, she has tried to squeeze her own symptoms and traits into those of being traits of someone with asperger.
I could be wrong, but it feels really weird to me.I cant relate, not even a bit.Maybe I shouldnt be trying to compare either, as everyone is different, but this just isnt "it" to me.Its like something is different, or the descriptions feel "off" somehow, like they are described wrong? I dont know.

I dont like it.

Dude I read this book!! ! I found it to be such a good read. It was a difficult read because I am not a regular reader. I read a bunch of the sequels too.

I'll admit the wording of it does tend to be difficult to understand yet, I've found it interesting though..

I enjoy the different wording. The sentence structure varies greatly in poetry as well.

I have a collection of cheap, but aweful books to get through. ATM I'm working through the Koran, someone should really tell Allah that self praise is no praise, because he never shuts the f**k up informing me how all-knowing and kind he is. Bit of a douche, really...

I wanna read that someday...
It's really annoying when people are like, "But you're atheist!" when you say you're reading a 'holy book.'
Yeah, because unlike you, we want to learn about what we don't believe in, so we can further justify our disbelief.

But, I digress; this ain't PPR.

I'm reading Gut Feelings: The Intelligence of the Unconscious by Gerd Gigerenzer.

I found the Qur'an about as tedious as the Bible, for much the same reasons.

The Mahabharata is a better yarn, once you can get through the interminable introductory parts, but I dispute a lot of the moral message behind it.

I am currently reading The Way We Really Are (nonfiction) by Stephanie Coontz. It was published in the '90s, and it basically debunks common myths surrounding the "nuclear family." It's a little slow at parts, but it's also full of very interesting tidbits of information.

I paused Gut Feelings on Sunday, started The Perks of Being a Wallflower, and I finished it at school this afternoon.
Now I'm planning on resuming Gut Feelings, then I'll read a Kaku book (Physics of the Impossible, to be specific. New one is being released either today or next Tuesday... I can't remember, and I've heard both dates... but I'm going to just wait until it's out at the library. I've already requested it and I'm 20something on the list.)
