Just finished The Mote in God's Eye.

It wasn't a very good book, but it's been a long time since I've read something through that made me realise how many other people made references to it in other books. (Atlas Shrugged, appropriately enough for this point in the thread, was the last.) The plot was full of holes, the stereotyping was appalling, the science was sketchy, the setting asininely anachronistic and the presence of a fanatical fan-base for it confusing (hmm... very like Atlas Shrugged, come to think of it)... but still, it was worth it purely for the reference to Istvan (I had my suspicions before then, but that just cracked me up!)

I'm reading Look Me In The Eye. I'm about 80% done, according to my Kindle. It's been an entertaining read. And fairly insightful. I don't think know how typical he is for an Aspie, though. I think many of us don't end up having anywhere near the real world success he has had.

Just finished readingThe Brothers Karamazov. I really recommend it, it's a masterpiece. I'm gonna start reading The dharma bums again, and to the end this time! I'm actually planning on reading all of Kerouacs books.

Great story. Haven't read the whole book (not enough time and too many more books to read), but I'm familiar with the story.

Reading The Panic Virus: A True Story of Medicine, Science, and Fear
I didn't really read much about it before picking it up; just seemed interesting. Title lured me in. Oddly enough, it has a lot to do with autism and vaccines. But do not fear: the author, Seth Mnookin, thoroughly detests the organizations (like AutismOne) that claim that autism is correlated with vaccines. The writing style really makes those people seem stupid, too. Only about 35 pages in, but I really like it so far.

Currently reading The Good Book: A Humanist Bible by A.C. Grayling

My aspie girlfriend got this for me. It's basically a book written in Bible form (With verses and chapters, even a "Gensis" based on the works of Darwin) that "preaches" secular ways of living.

We're both agnostic (Myself brushing on Atheist because of my militant nature in the mature) so it's been a very interesting read.

It can drone, as Bible's are to do, but it's all written very well as a massive homage to all secular and atheist philosophers such as Epicurus, while referencing the ancient works of Plato and similar writers.

Read The Sky Lords. Not bad. Milo was (is?) a peculiar character. Have ordered the next one.

Reading The Atrocity Archives. It is both squamous and rugose. :)

Heck yes! Can't go wrong with Dostoyevsky and the Beats. I'm going to try and read Naked Lunch by William S. Burroughs. I also liked "The Idiot" by Dostoyevsky very much.
