People buy popular music :? I don't know why cuz it's extremely easy to pirate that sense it's everywhere. I thought pop music was more about making money off other products. I've worked in retail & lots of products wer related to pop music like clothing, back to school, electronics, toys. I love pop music but I hate the marketing aspect & I hate how kids idolize those artist Look at how many Disney products out there are related to pop signers like Miley Cyrus

Metalcore, deathcore - it's pretending to 'sound totally underground' and looking like 'trendy, cool kids'. I see it as bunch of guys thinking 'ok, we failed to become popular by playing heavy music, so lets dress like fags and play crappy tunes so that emo chicks love us'. It's complete epitome of suck.

Mainstream pop
Hip-hop/rap
Techno/dance/house
Emo rock (which is starting to seep into the lineups of my fave music festivals)
I hate country too but I have to linedance to it

I'll echo others and say rap and metal.

My NT brother blares metal as his alarm clock when he wakes up in the morning and listens to it when he's up late at night on the computer. Also, it's hard for me to understand the words to rap and I like it when the people are actually singing (Lil Wayne had to learn how to sing to do Bob Dylan's part of "We Are The World 25 For Haiti". "We Are The World" > "We Are The World 25 For Haiti"; I'm not against Haiti relief, I just don't like the remake of this song.

I can't stand rap and hip-hop. I don't like the majority of metal songs, but some are okay (most because I have a metalhead best friend).

Rap {Although I have a rapper friend who sounds like Will Smith with an accent}

Country {Boring}

Top 40 {Most Top 40 now sucks}

Heavy metal & most metal in general {Oh, my hearing!}

Emo rock {Emos, it got old.}

Polka {Boring}

Avant-garde types of music {WTH? You call that music?}

Garage-style rock {WTF?}

People who dislike metal should listen to System of a Down, Tool or Korn.

I know an old guy in his late 70's who got fed up with all the kids parking outside his houuse and playing, rap, drum and bass, garage, etc ad nausium.
He asked them to move away on several occaisions but to no avail. So he approached their parents, again to no avail.
In desperation, he went to his local I.C.E. store where he had a serious phuck-ophph hi-fi installed in his old Toyota Carina.
He then parked outside the homes where these kids lived and played yodeling, classical and swing at full volume.
The parents of the kids asked him to go elsewhere if he wanted to play it that loud.
He said that when their kids stopped playing their music outside his house he would do likewise, then continued to crank it up.
After 4 nights of listening to to his choice of music the parents of thee kids obviously had words with their offspring and the problem was resolved.
When I heard this story it just made me laugh that an old man could have this effect.
