that can be said about every genre cus they all have their share of crappy music.

Some are crappier than others...

I'm actually a rap artist lol, I've grown up listening to hip hop all the time despite being mainly eclectic, Hip Hop has always been there.

Rather surprisingly for someone probably with Aspergers, my favorite emcee is Tupac Shakur, simply because he was the most emotive and passionate rapper, he made me feel like he was talking to me, got me through a lot of emotional times for me.

A lot of people however are still of the opinion that rappers are untalented, which is unfounded in my opinion, I don't bash people for listening to death metal or classical symphonies, because I like them too!!

JohnHopkins: I sound ignorant because this is the stereotype - Aspies won't listen to HipHop!
MountZion: Thanks for assuring me that it is possible that Aspies can be rappers too. You just smashed stereotypes that I couldn't quite break.
Willa: I recommend this

All music is derived from hip hop anyway! Inspired many of the greats. Mozart was known to chillax with a blunt and a tumbler of Hennessey and play 36 chambers on his piano. And Dolly Parton likes nothing more than a drive by shooting rolling with big booty ghetto hunies, while spitting rhymes. And before their death plane plummeted from the skies Buddy Holly was rumoured to be bringing out a rap album with The Big Bopper with Richie Valens on Beatboxing duties.

Then it is pretty ironic that everyone isn't too cool on the hiphop we have now (on air)...

Aesop Rock, MF DOOM, B.I.G., KRS-One :D

Aesop can really reach inside my head sometimes, other times I have no idea what he's talking about....then I listen to the track after some time has past/experienced life more and it makes sense because of what I went through. I don't listen to a lot of hip hop but if I listen to it with my heart like I would poetry it can be really soulful.

Not sure if im an aspie yet but i might, and i sure like hip hop.

i would first of all reccomend immortal technique and eminem. by now thats most of what i listen to (in english, at least). jedi mind tricks seems to be also a good rap group, and im also listening to deltron 3030 which is a record by rapper "del tha funky homosapien" under the name deltron 3030.

to everybody who is an aspie and doesnt like hip hop, i would say, listen to this songs and reconsider:

lose yourself - by eminem, you migh already know this one.

industrial revolution - immortal technique

harlem streets - immortal technique

uncommon valor - a vietnam story - jedi mind tricks ft. RA the rugged man (this is based on a real vietnam story to me its very interesting

3030 - by deltron 3030 - for all you sci-fi lovers here.

infinite - by eminem.

sing for the moment - eminem

------

It would be interesting for me to hear some aspie opinions on those songs.

'Lose Yourself' is a great song for anyone feeling down about anyhting, basically. 'Sing for The Moment' is also amazing, I know almost every word of it because it just expresses my viewpoints on the subject Em is addressing in it.

I know, man. Theres a bunch of eminem songs i enjoy but those are some of his strongest ones.

I remember when i first started to listen to "lose yourself", and understand the lyrics the last verses of the song always managed to bring chills down my spine (i think is how you say it), cause it sounded so truthful, and the lyrics are very strong at that point of the song. Ive learned a bunch of his lyrics from begining to end.

on another note:

lol im such a newbie, note how i wrote "Bataar wrote:", myself. I tried to make the quote properly but i didn't know how to do it, now i write the whole
myself, i don't know if theres an easier way to do it, though.
sometimes i use the "quote" button at the upper right of someone's post but that disseapears when you're making the actual response so i can only use it once. Is there another way to quote besides writing the name yourself? lol. Thanks.
