I tend to like Traditional/Classic metal the best, and a little bit of New Wave British and Progressive sprinkled in. :D

I suppose I like doom the most. St. Vitus, Electric Wizard, Spirit Caravan, that sort of stuff just rocks the sh*t. Oh, and Orange Goblin.

Anyone ever heard of Nevermore? They have some killer stuff. My favorite album from them is Dead Heart In a Dead World. A lot of their stuff is quality and I wouldn't be surprised if anyone says this or that is their favorite album instead. You can't define the type of metal they play because it is very versatile.

Damn, no love for the hair bands? I LOVE cheesy '80s glam metal, in addition to the classic bands like Sabbath and Priest.

Speed/thrash metal has gotta be my favorite. Though I also love the "out of the box" feel of progressive metal as well.

Even though metal isn't my genre of choice these days, I like metal from the 70's (Black Sabbath, Motorhead) and 80's (Metallica, Slayer) best. I also like lots of bands that are close to being metal like King Crimson (their album 'Red' is pretty much metal).

More recent metal bands I like are Opeth, In Flames and Nightwish.

So I guess that what I like best is plain old heavy metal, and a little bit of progressive and power metal.

Some symphonic and gothic. My favourite metal band is Nightwish.
