I like "whom". I like to answer the telephone by saying, "Is this the person to whom I am speaking?" :)

I also like "whence", "hitherto", and "shall", although those are all words that seem a little odd and/or archaic to Californian ears.

I'm also partial to "odious".

this thread kinda makes me want to facedesk or facewall.

people shouldn't fuss over if someone uses words they don't like. For example ive used thee/thy in writing before, because i want the speech to fit the time. If it offends/annoys or sounds odd, so what. there are people who indeed talk like that.
