that was like the madrigal to end all madrigals! seriously, his voice is truly fine, it reminds me of ed ames.
Can I say that I see what you mean about the voice, even though I gave up 3/4 of the way through because I was laughing too hard? It was just that campy song. I'd like to hear him sing something a little more accessible, this was just SO 60s/70s.
I usually favor higher tenors for some reason. I'm not sure what makes a voice great, but I know that there are certain ones I can listen to again and again. One I've been favoring recently is Kevin Max. He does Christian pop but his music does vary some. I found just a little clip where he's working out his voice at a concert... sounds at the very end like some of the audience didn't appreciate his little joke, but anyway, it's a sample of his voice. I looked for a live one because I always suspect an autotuner when someone sounds too slick in their recorded work, but he really does sound like his recordings from the live pieces I found.

A younger male singer I think is very good is Mika. Sometimes I wish he'd quit messing around and really sing, but there's no doubt that the talent is there:

And the man Mika is sometimes compared to, Freddie Mercury. One of the few rock singers who could hold his own next to an operatic soprano:

But what I really love is not just Freddie Mercury, but all of Queen, a band with such glorious harmonies that my old dad even spoke in admiration of them, and honestly, he was quite the old fart... very picky about music especially. I really enjoy watching this video because you see them all doing the harmonies (even if they're lip synching, it still shows what's happening).

Also, Andy Bell, the lead singer of Erasure (last I heard, I've lost track of them since around 1992). I have no idea what the deal is with this video...

And Robert Plant... I chose this song because he's just singing in it, not much to get in the way compared to Led Zeppelin stuff, so you can really hear the voice. He looked like a little girl, but what a voice!

I could go on but I'll be good and stop myself, this is long enough.
