Late Junction on BBC Radio 3 is pretty good for this kind of stuff, and nowadays you can catch up online although I think there's nothing quite like staying up late listening to the radio on headphones.

I like scandinavian folk metal......most music I listen to is not from the U.S where I am from, but I don't care much for what people consider to be 'world music' not sure what that even means anyways.

I don't really get what it is either. I mean, "world music" could be anything made by anyone in the world. I thought maybe it meant traditional folk music, but that's not what Deep Forest, etc. is. So I have no idea.

yeah, they are pretty good as well. I need to take a closer look at fintroll's and vintersorgs stuff. They are more like ensiferum from what I have listened to so far, but have more black metal elements to them. Both are still technically Folk metal though.

This is from the album Mold by Praxis. Uses a lot of African vocality and is pretty experimental. Quite ambient but I think it's worth putting up on here. Again, it's not what you might call 'authentic' World Music, but it's heavily influenced by all things African. Weird but strangely rythmical in it's own avant-guarde way.
