I'm interested in avant-garde music before it was referred to as such. The origins of this type of thing. Has anyone read The Art of Noise from the Futurist Manifesto?

Not sure if this is considered avant-garde, but someone else posted some Ulver so why not :)

The song gets good at approx. the 2 minute mark.

That was good. Reminded me of Death Cube K, but a bit more 'bohemian' sounding, if that makes sense.

Do these guys count as avant garde-ish? I remember when I first heard Ephel Duath I was like What. The. Hell!? Usually avant garde music makes me think that so.........?

Murdered it with awesome.

Great stuff.

Since I'm obsessed with Zach Hill, here's another song. It's drum and guitar rock, but it's quite experimental.

A brilliant genre of music that's just limitless in what it entails. I can't get enough of all the varying styles that artists experiment with.

Igorrr - Tendon. Affectionately labelled as baroquecore, this is probably the most accessible song for those who don't know what to expect.

Vladislav Delay's brilliant Toive from the Tummaa album, featuring an equally brilliant accompanying video.

Svarte Greiner - Final Sleep from the Knive album, experimental modern classical type.

Nosaj Thing - Us (Jon Hopkins Remix) = one brilliant mind remixing another one, an experimental downtempo take on an equally experimental glitchy beat-filled song.

Of Porcelain - Here for Now. Simple in it's beauty, a few core ingredients treated with care resulting in an incredible piece of music.

That's enough for now, I guess this serves as a bit of an intro, so hi. :)

J'aime that album, a truly incredible masterpiece!

Using that song as a yardstick, here's some more.

H.M.M.A.H.H.H - Zeleniy Yar

Vorpal - Rene Eespere's Trivium Lovingly Reimagined

Nubbin - The Wizards Ascension

Apparat - You Don't Know Me

Love this genre, whatever the above songs should be called, there's far too little of it that gets released.
