Headphones all the way. I have a pair of Sennheiser eh-150's and they are by far the best headphones I've ever owned. The bass on those things is like having a mini subwoofer next to your ear. I remember the first time I got the full effect which was when the first Gears of War 3 trailor came out. At the end you hear this extremely low frequency boom, but with these headphones it was like.....I can't explain it.
However, I DO plan on upgrading to a better pair soon. these are the ones I currently own:

And these, I can only dream of having. At a price tag close to $2000........yeah, no way I see myself getting those anytime soon.
