it is refreshing that nowadays there is no more lip-syncing vocal fakery in movies, the actors are taking the trouble to learn to sing their roles properly.

he was a great trombonist, but not THE great trombonist. but nobody could edit and arrange quite so elegantly as glenn miller. he exclusively made "in the mood" ready for prime time.

Haha I also play trombone! :D

I love musicals. I've seen stage productions of Hairspray, Wicked, and Mamma Mia. As for movies my favorites are the Producers, Little Shop of Horrors, and the Wizard of Oz. Sadly I've only seen part of Sweeny Todd. I love to just listen to the music sometimes. My all time fovorite though has to be Wicked. I wish I could have seen Idina Menzel and Kristen Chenoweth perform together.

Good Luck with yoyr play. My school recently did a musical too. It wasn't a real one though, just something my drama teacher wrote and we song normal songs like telephone by Lady Gaga and One Hand, One Heart from West Side Story along with a few other songs. But it was fun and everyone did a good job.

I was a clarinetist when I was younger. I played in the pit orchestra for Brigadoon when I was a senior in high school. When I moved to Illinois after graduate school, I played in the pit orchestra for a local community theater production of West Side Story. That show was a b*tch to play, especially when you don't play jazz. The instrument changes weren't exactly easy (I was tripleing up on e-flat soprano, b-flat soprano and bass clarinet. The only guy I hung around with was James T. Kirk (no, he was not a Captain.)

I'm a big fan of Les Miserables. I know it's trendy now because of the movie (which I generally enjoyed even if it had its flaws), but I've liked it since I sang a medley of songs with my high school choir back in junior year. Other musicals I've enjoyed include Rent, Phantom of the Opera, The Producers, The Rocky Horror (Picture) Show, Little Shop of Horrors, West Side Story, Once On This Island (I was in the chorus for my high school's production of this one), and Fiddler On The Roof.

I love Sweeney Tood (with Johnny Depp), Phantom Of The Opera (Ramin Karimloo and Gerard Butler are my favorite phantoms and Emmy Rossum is my favorite Christine), Cats, Jesus Christ Superstar. I also like Les Miserables and Love Never Dies.
