Yes, I often listen to film scores (and video game scores). The scores from The Lord of the Rings gets played a lot on my ipod. Some of my favorite composers are Danny Elfman and Hans Zimmer.
Elfman is a genius, have you seen Forbidden Zone which stars Danny as Satan which is directed by Danny's brother Richard?
Serenada Schizophrana by Danny Elfman is wonderful.
No, I haven't seen it, but I do want to. I just don't know where to get it.

I frequently see a movie and then buy the soundtrack as soon as I get home. The last one I bought was Hanna, and before that was Tron: Legacy. I find that the music often times makes the film. I also love video game soundtracks, my favorite being the Silent Hill OST's.
Tron Legacy was a good sountrack, it really fit. And I love the Silent Hill soundtracks, I have all of them. Sadly, the composer who has worked on all the games did not return for the newest one that's coming out.

Yes, I was quite saddened to hear that. However, the person who is doing the music is Daniel Licht who does music for the show Dexter. I like some of that music so I have hope. I don't think it will be as good as Akira Yamaoka, but as long as it fits the general Silent Hill atmosphere, I will be satisfied.

Oh he's composing? Yeah, he does some good stuff. Yamaoka's music is just so amazing and unique though. It created a great atmosphere. When I think of Silent Hill I think of that music. I'm still eagerly awaiting the game, however.
Speaking of games, have you ever played Folklore (or FolksSoul as it's called in Japan) for the PS3? I love that OST, it's dark, moody and melancholy, but also childish and circus-like at times.

I'm also looking forward to playing the game. Hopefully I will have the means to play it by the time it comes out. As of now, I only have a PS2, unfortunately. I'm also looking forward to the next movie, since Heather will be in it. I've seen pictures of the set, and Lakeside Amusement Park looks amazing. They even made little Robbie the Rabbit plushies.
I've never played Folklore, but based on how you described the music, I am definitely going to check it out. I think I'll search the OST right now. :]

I like some of the songs I've heard so far from Folklore.
Another OST I like is the one from the PC game, American Mcgee's Alice. Also creepy with a childlike vibe.

I don't have the OST for American Mcgee's Alice, but I have it for Alice: Madness Returns. I love both those games.
I totally forgot about the Silent Hill movie. I looked up some set pictures for the sequel, I can't wait to see it. I want a Robbie the Rabbit.

Madness Returns is another one I desperately want to play. Curses! I dislike not having a PS3 and/or XBox 360.

Yes, so many good games and good soundtracks! Some other OSTs I like are Mass Effect 2, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Assassin's Creed: Revelations, God of War 3, TES V: Skyrim and many, many more. If you ever get an Xbox 360 we could exchange gamertags if you wish.

I remember looking up footage of Yamaoka performing Silent Hill stuff and ended up stumbling upon this awesome performance of music from God Of War that is pretty damn epic:

I used to think that film scores used to bore me because they were Iike classical music to me, but when I got to college and in need of some good studying music, I discovered a great website and all they play is film/tv/game scores. I fell completely in love with the genre. If anyone is interested in checking out the website, it's www.streamingsoundtracks.com. I hope to see you guys on there.
