flyleaf "cassie"
The question asked in order
To save her life or take it
The answer no to avoid death
The answer yes would make it
Make it

Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie pulled the trigger

All heads are bowed in silence
To remember her last sentence
She answered him knowing what would happen
Her last words still hanging in the air
In the air

Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie/Rachel pulled the trigger

How many will die
I will die
I, I will say yes

Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
Say yes to pull the trigger
Do you believe in God
Written on the bullet
And Cassie pulled the trigger

(Do you believe)
Do you believe in God (Do you believe)
Do you believe in God (Do you believe)
Do you believe in God
And I will pull the trigger

This may sound a bit narcissistic, but my favorite sog lyrics come from one of my own songs. Wrote it after a particularly moving dream. Couldn't remember the dream itself, but the melody and lyrics stuck out.

"I laugh in my splendor
But you'll soon see my pain"

I just told my best friend that these lyrics fit with her best. And they're my favourite part of the song:

No one could ever know me
No one could ever see me
Seems you're the only one who knows
What it's like to be me
Someone to face the day with
Make it through all the rest with
Someone I'll always laugh with
Even at my worst I'm best with you, yeah

I'll Be There For You - The Rembrandts.

Then I really love these:

I'm on fire,
but you just stare through me,
Like you see beauty in
the flames.

It's been a long road,
just to get myself clean.
Won't you take me as
I am?

'Cause I love,
you more,
than I've
ever done before

What did you expect,
when you sat next to me.
With a heart so closed,
as yours.

Has the sun gone down,
on the world that we knew?
There's just a room
full of doubt
where the lights
have gone out
you cannot feel me,
and I can't reach you.

But I love,
you more,
than I've
ever done before

I love,
you more,
than I've
ever done before

Don't hold me back,
just hold me.
Don't turn your back,
just hold me!
('Cause I love,
you more,
than I've
ever done before)

I love,
you more,
than I've
ever done before!

Ever Done Before - Sterr

So close
A perfect start
So undeniable
Fallen apart

So right from wrong
So beautiful
Truly defining
So hard to let go

She's always knocking doors into my thoughts

I don't wanna love her
I don't wan't her here in my life
I don't wan't her near me
But she's so deep inside
I don't wanna love her , no
I just wanna fly away
But broken wings don't fly

She took a blue sky
Turned it to rain
She took pure freedom
Transformed it to pain

I don't wan't her prison
I don't wan't her poison
I don't wan't her games, her cage, her ball and chain

She's always knocking doors into my thoughts

I don't wanna love her
I don't wan't her here in my life
I don't wan't her near me
But she's so deep inside
I don't wanna love her , no
I just wanna fly away
But broken wings don't fly

Bonds unbroken
Are leading me astray
Words unspoken
Are driving me insane

My mind is prisoner
To a heart out of control
I don't ...

I don't wanna love her
I don't wan't her here in my life
I don't wan't her near me
But she's so deep inside
I don't wan't her near me
I just wanna fly away
But broken wings don't..
Broken wings don't fly

Broken ....

I don't wanna love her
No broken wings don't fly
No broken wings don't fly
Broken wings don't fly

I Don't Wanna Love Her - Brinck

I'd recommend the Sterr and Brinck songs if people have never heard them before. They're really great songs.

These are ones that happen to come to mind at the moment, how much I relate to or like them depends on my current mood and stuff, obviously. I should also note that these probably convey a lot more emotion with the actual music.

Quote:
I got ice in my veins, blood in my eyes
Hate in my heart, love in my mind
I seen nights full of pain, days of the same
You keep the sunshine, save me the rain
And I search but never find, hurt but never cry
I work and forever try but I'm cursed, so never mind
And it's worse but better times seem further and beyond
The top gets higher the more that I climb
The spot gets smaller, and I get bigger
Tryna get into where I fit in, no room for a *****
But soon for a ***** it be on, motherfu**er
'Cause all this bulls**t just make me strong, motherfu**er

Quote:
She stole my heart, she ran away
Now I'm heartless, so f**k her anyway
We got along, she got away
The price is wrong, but she gotta pay

Quote:
I'm on the quest for the logic I can't find,
How can you be sleeping with someone else to your side?
Are you blind? Are you out of your f*****g mind?
The bank just called they said that your sanity was declined
Cause three weeks ago you said you will die for me
So die for me, how come you are giving up on me?
You cannot take the good without the bad don't you get it?
We had our glory days and now you easily forget it
I'm tryina eat but I miss you, it makes me sick

Quote:
Oh, sod it, it hurts but I'll reveal the truth
Sometimes I'd like to curl up and be a recluse
I mean it, it isn't simply an excuse
I'm really feeling too weak to deal with you
Do you see what I've been reduced to?
A shadow of myself with the bleakest future
I zone out, open myself
And only hope someone else knows what I'm about
It's lonely when you've felt so low you can't help
But want to go for broke, and throw in the towel
Go to the cabinet, open the tablets
Overdose and lay comatose in the bath with the tap running
That's not what I planned when I had hope though
I once was the man in the photo
Laughing with no load on my back and no hassle
And the path to my happiness, that was still open
In the past had I known that all that was over
Perhaps I'd have known how to claw back those years

...

I'm a misfit - your inane conversation
Misfit - puts a strain on my patience
I'm a misfit - please take me away from all
Misfit - this pain and frustration
I'm a misfit

Do I freak you out with what I speak about?
Like I'm not even allowed to reveal myself
Cos it breaches how people seem to chat
It seems they really don't want to hear the real Dan
But piss off, I'm just not interested in small talk
I'd much more discuss thoughts on Bush, war and such
All the fuss all you f***s all get flustered with football
Means f**k all to me cos it's just sport, and that's all
Don't you ever sit and think about the bigger things
And how to figure things out that aren't just physical?
The little bit of history we fit into
How we're writ into it, and what it means to us
I feel I don't ever belong, what a misfit
But see, don't get me wrong, I'm not a thick kid
Cross my fingers, I've got witnesses of this
I think it's some kind of condition or sickness
That inhibits my ability to fit in with hip kids
Sit and sip drinks without feeling ridiculous
Is there something I've missed, is this all just a trick?
Can you all just admit that you're being pricks
For s**ts and giggles? It itches and niggles
This list of questions, riddles and things
That fill my head and inner sense with visions of maliciousness
With this malevolence I'm stripped of my innocence
The pinnacle thing beginning my wishlist's
A vision in which I'm just hindered with less stress
So if I sink into and addiction and alcoholism
Can I be forgiven for wishing to skip this
Abyss of decisions? This piteous pit
Full of pissy and s**t citizens
Cos if this planet I've seen's the epitome of existence
Then s**t, you can literally sit and spin on it

Those last ones especially really get to me, and I think I'm right in saying a fair few other Aspies will relate to a lot of them too.

My favourite song:

Pulp - Disco 2000

Well we were born within one hour of each other.
Our mothers said we could be sister and brother.
Your name is Deborah, Deborah.
It never suited ya.
(They said that) when we grew up,
we'd get married, and never split up.
We never dated, although often I thought of it.

Oh Deborah, do you recall?
Your house was very small,
with wood chip on the wall.
When I came around to call,
you didn't notice me at all.

I said let's all meet up in the year 2000.
Won't it be strange when we're all fully grown.
Be there two o'clock by the fountain down the road.
I never knew that you'd get married.
I would be living down here on my own
On that damp and lonely Thursday years ago.

You were the first girl at school to get breasts.
Martyn said that yours were the best.
The boys all loved you but I was a mess.
I had to watch them trying to get you undressed.
We were friends but that was as far as it went.
I used to walk you home sometimes but it meant,
oh it meant nothing to you,
cos you were so popular.

Deborah do you recall?
Your house was very small,
with woodchip on the wall.

Oh yeah,
oh yeah.

And now it's all over,
You've paid your money and you've taken your choice
And I don't know if we'll ever meet again
But Deborah I just wanted you to know
I remember every single thing

Oh Deborah, do you recall?
Your house was very small,
with wood chip on the wall.
When I came around to call,
you didn't notice me at all.

I said let's all meet up in the year 2000.
Won't it be strange when we're all fully grown.
Be there two o'clock by the fountain down the road.
I never knew that you'd get married.
I would be living down here on my own,
on that damp and lonely Thursday years ago.
Oh what are you doing Sunday baby.
Would you like to come and meet me maybe?
You can even bring your baby.
Ohhh ooh ooh. Ooh ooh ooh ooh.
What are you doing Sunday baby.
Would you like to come and meet me maybe?
You can even bring your baby.
Ooh ooh oh. Ooh ooh ooh ooh. Ooh ooh ooh ooh. Oh.

I kiss at last the beloved ground of my land,
That I left one day with my hard heart full of pain.
I have looked in the faces of my old friends,
But nobody looked at me as my old friends.
And now what happens you must, you must tell me.
You must remember who I am.

If you see a man with downcast eyes and ragged clothes,
Walking through your village, don't shun him but go beside.
I'm that man and now I beg you, help me, I need you.
I need you.

The liar who told my sweetheart that I was dead,
To take my place, he shall pay for this base lie.
Those who saw me as a rundown man,
Those who tried to destroy all our world,
Shall leave forever our beloved land,
Because we are fearless men,
Because we are fearless men,
Because we are fearless men.

Heroes by David Bowie

I, I will be king
And you, you will be queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can beat them, just for one day
We can be heroes, just for one day

And you, you can be mean
And I, I'll drink all the time
'Cause we're lovers, and that is a fact
Yes we're lovers, and that is that

Though nothing, will keep us together
We could steal time, just for one day
We can be heroes, for ever and ever
What d'you say?

I, I wish you could swim
Like the dolphins, like dolphins can swim
Though nothing, nothing will keep us together
We can beat them, for ever and ever
Oh we can be heroes, just for one day

I, I will be king
And you, you will be queen
Though nothing will drive them away
We can be heroes, just for one day
We can be us, just for one day

I, I can remember (I remember)
Standing, by the wall (by the wall)
And the guns, shot above our heads (over our heads)
And we kissed, as though nothing could fall (nothing could fall)
And the shame, was on the other side
Oh we can beat them, for ever and ever
Then we could be heroes, just for one day

We can be heroes
We can be heroes
We can be heroes
Just for one day
We can be heroes

We're nothing, and nothing will help us
Maybe we're lying, then you better not stay
But we could be safer, just for one day

Does anyone actually read the copy-pasted lyrics or is everyone just scrolling through to post their own?

the Mountain Goats are my absolute favorite band lyrically. But I won't copy and paste a wall of text to try and prove my point. Just listen to them.

"Your voice is just a whisper
You call upon your blank thoughts as you try
To fit in where you missed her
You missed the chance to stop living a lie

The last time you cared about anything
The last time you allowed yourself to be seen
So pretentious your lies unrelenting disguise
Creating tears in your eyes your mind withers and dies
Pretending to be something you are not
Somewhere in the middle you are now caught
You've never seen who you really are"
- Hollowman by Trapt.

"You're like an infantile
I knew it all the while
You sit and try to play me
Just like you see on tv
I am an oversight
Just like a parasite
Why am I so pathetic
I know you won't forget it

Sooner or later you're gonna hate it
Go ahead and throw our life away
Driving me under, leaving me out there
Go ahead and throw our life away."
- Sooner or Later by Breaking Benjamin.

"Out here, nothings clear
Except the moment I decided to move on and I ignited
Disappear into the fear
You know there ain't no comin' back
When you're still carrying the past
You can't erase, separate
Cigarette in my hand,
Hope you all understand

I won't be the last one in line
I finally figured out what's mine."
- Breaking Inside by Shinedown.

Carry me to heaven's arms
Light the way and let me go

And I will find the enemy within
'Cause I can feel it crawl beneath my skin

Dear agony, just let go of me
Suffer slowly, is this the way it's got to be, dear agony?

Suddenly the lights go out
Let forever drag me down
I will fight for one last breath
I will fight until the end

And I will find the enemy within
'Cause I can feel it crawl beneath my skin

Dear agony, just let go of me
Suffer slowly, is this the way it's got to be?
Don't bury me, faceless enemy
I'm so sorry, is this the way it's got to be, dear agony?

Leave me alone, God, let me go
All blue and cold, black sky will burn
Love, pull me down, hate, lift me up
Just turn around, there's nothing left

Somewhere far beyond this world
I feel nothing anymore

Dear agony, just let go of me
Suffer slowly, is this the way it's got to be?
Don't bury me faceless enemy
I'm so sorry, is this the way it's got to be, Dear agony?

I feel nothing anymore

Wow another person who loves Dear Agony, thank you. :)

Have you ever been disappointed
Isley brothers, Jimi hendrix

Into his life
Some rain must fall
Sometimes I get that feeling
Too much is falling now
Sometimes I wonder, I really wonder
Was I born to suffer ?
Sometimes I feel I'm only wasting my time
All of the lonely people
Where do we all come from ?
If y'all can tell me
I would surely like to know
Driving in my car
On the lonely highway
Which exit should I turn now
Tell me where should I go ?
I was born to feel
Ever since I was a child
I felt the things that were real
My daddy told me to stand up,
and say what was on my mind
But now my daddy's gone
it seems such a long long time
How many times
do we go along with something
with some of the things that we know ain't right
had to be wrong
sometimes I feel
I feel so disappointed
Every little thing that i try
Looks like it turns out to be in vain
And I turn around and look at my friends
And ask them for some kind of understanding
And they say don't look at me
Don't look at me
Oh, how they change
So tell me who
Tell me who do I turn to
Where, where can i go
Who has the answer
Seems I don't know about enough
Someday I'll find
Someplace where there's love and peace of mind
And my troubles away
I'll be so glad
To see that day
Gotta keep on searching
And I'll find the way
No more sadness
No more fears
No more heartaches
No more tears
