They used to be my favorite band.
Then they started to SUCK, BIG TIME with Load(of Sh*t)
In my mind, they broke up and never got back together after the black album.

Now, I rarely listen to them anymore.
I listen to much better metal bands like Pantera, Slayer & Sepultura.
In a heavy metal sense, Metallica are a bunch of p*****s now. They are not even metal anymore, just hard rock.

Funny thing, Sepultura have gone downhill since Max Cavalera left. Cavalera Conspiracy's recent album was better than ANYTHING Sepultura have released since Max left.

I dont like how people who dont listen to metal automatically assumes Metallica to be the best metal band in the world. There are many Fade to Black like songs out there but people just dont bother to look. But Metallica is good yeah.

For the record, Metallica didn't write/record that cover TeaEarlGreyHot sorry. :(

But yeah, Metallica have produced some great albums.

Like other bands of MANY other genres, they'll never top their glory days, but that's par for the course.

Looking forward to hearing their new album next year.

Favourite Albums in order of Preference

1) ...And Justice For All - A record this complex deserves severe recognition.
2) Ride The Lightning - A fine Thrash Metal record.
3) Master Of Puppets - Goes without saying.
4) Kill 'Em All - A stunning debut.
5) The Black Album - Slower, but heavier. Great!
6) Death Magnetic - A great comeback of sorts, but the wall of noise treatment lets it down a little.
7) Garage Inc. - An amazing double album worth of covers.
8 ) Beyond Magnetic EP - Leftovers off Death Magnetic that I think should've been on there. But it's not their fault that they couldn't of been completed in time.

And yet everything Sepultura has done since Max left has been better than Soulfly. Not that that's saying much.

Dante XXI was the nail in the coffin, it's not even listenable. Though A-Lex was better, they just aren't that great anymore.

Ditto, I love the first four albums, Master of Puppets is a all time great/classic album, Saw it played live at Download 06, one of my life highlights so far

I like the Sepultura stuff with Max, but prefer Soulfly to the newer Sepultura stuff. Still getting into Cavalera Conspiracy

Me, but I'll admit I haven't listened to their albums on repeat, so no 'Favourite Songs' list.

I am a fan of Metallica before they cut their hair....seriously the secret to their music must have had to do with their hair because when they cut it there music started to go downhill.

maybe not exactly but yeah the two seemed to happen at the same time.

Metallica is that money obsessed band with that jackass drummer named Lars. He wanted to take down napster and have innocent teens arrested simply for downloading their music for free.

Whatever respect I have had for that band is gone. The music isn't even that good anymore.

Metallica died when Cliff died. And Justice for All was only good because Cliff wrote most of it.

Cutting off their mullets was just the final nail in the coffin.

It's a proven fact that long hair gives you magical powers of awesomeness.

I bought Master of Puppets when I was a kid. It definitely broadened my musical horizons. Has anyone seen Some Kind of Monster, the Metallica documentary? Apparently a corporate therapist was hired to get the members of the band to cooperate on another recording, even though none of them wanted to do it and they didn't really need the money. Funny and sad at the same time.
