A lady friend at work and I have a difference opinion.

She's into emo, (though doesnt think much of screamo).

I think screamo and emo suck.

I love raw emotion in vocals, by the likes of the late Etta James, Teddy Pendergrass, and Issac Hayes( damn- all of those artists died in the last few years), but all of these screaming thin voiced white kids in the world of emo all sound alike and all just get on my nerves.

Actually Eddie Veddar of Pearl Jam is a pleasant baritone, but he sounds the same in all of his songs. When he sings about finnally finding true love he sounds just as sad and suicidal as when he sings about contemplating suicide.

Well- he's grunge, and not emo but I just had to vent.

Actually the theme song of "Whale Wars" is kinda cool.

I learned, but forgot the name of the band that does that "The World is a Vampire" song.

If anyone really believes that EVERY screamo band is awful, please feel free to let us know, That's not going to stop me from listening to it! Of course there are some bad ones. I'm only going to give a top 5, but here you go.

1. The Devil Wears Prada
2. Of Mice and Men
3. Abominable Putridity
4. BrokeNCYDE
5. Arch Enemy

I do believe you are talking out of your arse. Arch Enemy are not screamo, they are melodic death metal. Get your facts straight.

I really think, you should point out that screamo is a music genre of its own and is not "everything with a high grunting leadsinger".
