Ah, the Eighties, bad hair, bad clothes, killer music.

Siouxie and the Banshees are awesome.

When it comes to the music, I live in the '80s.

I wouldn't have voted for "Livin' on a Prayer" though. New Order's good, as is anything by the Smiths and the Cure. For a while I thought "Love Plus One" by Haircut 100 was the best song to come out of the '80s, and publicized in on my LJ as such. Now I've really got a thing going for Olivia Newton-John's "Physical"; everyone laughs when I tell them that.

I think that may have come out in 1979 (the year I was born), but close enough.

I wouldn't of voted for Livin' On A Prayer.

I guess most people (not all) when living in the 80s only remember that song and vote for it.

I might be wrong though.

There were plenty of rubbish bands in the 80s.... don't stare too long through the rose-tinted spectacles :D As for the good ones:-

"Love plus one" by Haircut 100 was bloody brilliant, agreed. Didn't they also do "Fantastic Day"?

"When Smokey Sings" - ABC

"I Second That Emotion" - Japan

"C'mon Eileen" - Dexy's Midnight Runners

"Love Cats" - The Cure (might be 90s, not sure)

"Heatseeker" - AC/DC

"She Sells Sanctuary" - The Cult

"Plug Tunin' " - De La Soul

"24 minutes from Tulse Hill" - Carter USM

It Bites "Eat Me in St. Louis" album

Stone Roses "Stone Roses" album

"Don't Dream It's Over" - Crowded House
"The Tower That Ate People" - Peter Gabriel
come to think of it, just about anything from Gabriels' "So" album, plus a big hunk of Genesis.

Ooh, and can't forget Loverboy.
Or the Bangles.
Or Berlin.
Ooh, or Oingo Boingo.

My favourite song of the 80´s is Africa by Toto. I think it was the "one hit wonders" decade !

They had other hits too. They also did a song called "Roseanna."

I like their song 'Peek a Boo', and the video clip that came with it, with the venitian blinds....

Actually the song I would've picked is "Here I Go Again" by Whitesnake.
