Yeah! But Guillermo Del Toro tried for many years and I think let it go a few years ago. Something like he couldn't get enough investors.

I just read the book "Room" by Emma Donoghue. I think that would be a perfect movie.

I've never liked a movie version of a book. I don't think any books should be made into movies.

I always thought the same thing, but I don't think the best movie making team could make a movie version up to my expectations. That series is WAY underrated.

House of Leaves, if handled competently, would be a terrific horror movie. The book involves a lot of recorded video footage, and a lot of the visual imagery conjured up by the book is mindblowing and terrifying. Lots of infinite spaces and non-Euclidean shenanigans. On the other hand, a lot of the appeal of the book is to do with the format of the book, which would be impossible to translate directly. But an equivalent thing could be done with the movie, where it is constantly jumping around from one layer of narrative to another, maybe with the visual effect of the camera zooming out to reveal that the previous scene was on a television or something.

Ender's Game

They were going to make a movie, but I think the idea got scrapped.

"Billion Dollar Baby" by Bob Greene (same guy who still writes for one of the Chicago papers). He got to go along with the Alice Cooper Group on tour in 197x and played Santa Claus in the finale, got to sing some harmony vocals on the album "Muscle of Love." All sorts of great rockstar stories.

For some reason, the book is really hard to find, even though it was out in paperback at one point... but it's a great book and would easily translate to a movie...

If I read a book and then see the film (the only exception being breaking dawn part one) I am always severely disappointed. I hate when they change so much of the story it's unrecognisable. I was absolutely apalled by The Golden Compass- the removes half the book and then muddled it up, creating an entierly new ending!! Mind you I still stupidly read and then watch.

Del Toro said he will never return to the project because the ending is too close to that of "Prometheus".
Having said that, I would like to most any story by Lovecraft made into a movie.

Artemis Fowl series I really liked in elementary school (not going to read it again because I wouldn't like it as much, it would be too easy to read). I don't think it should be made into a movie. I would be worried about the infamous Eragon movie happening to Artemis Fowl.

How about Dream-quest of Unknown Kadath?

BTW, I wonder if they could get a PG-13 rating, if not lower?
