Can't really say, only that Shut Up became an annoying alpha female anthem during my ill-fated 6 month jaunt at another college 8 years ago.

Everything the Black Eyed Peas does is either a masterpiece, or its an atrocity!

Rarely is it in between.

"Where is the love" is one of the masterpieces.

"My Humps" is one of their atrocities.

On thier plus side: they paved the way for LMFAO- the best party band of the 21st Centurey (so far) - by creating a certain sound ( a mix of old school and new school funk) and combining that with dance. So on balance they have proven to be important stylists.

Only two songs by them did I ever really like. Rock That Body and Meet Me Halfway.

When they first started, they were good (Let's Get It Started was awesome!), but when they came out with "My Humps," I just had enough of them. I really hate mainstream rap now compared to stuff from the 1990s. I have the right to say that as a producer.
