Am I the only one who gets annoyed when people refer to self-titled albums as 'The [insert color here] album'? I guess that only works with Weezer who didn't title a bunch of their albums and the only way to tell them apart is with the color. But stuff like Metallica and The Beatles, they only have one self-titled album. So yeah, refer to it as that.

But anyways, thats kind of off topic. So yeah, worst album I have ever heard? Well the worst I have ever purchased was probably St. Anger by Metallica, and there is much worse stuff out there.

If you want to hear some truly awful stuff, and I do not own, nor have I listened to this whole album, I have heard enough of it to know it sucks. Check out Pat Boone - In a Metal Mood: No More Mr. Nice Guy

probably. and I dont know of any other music group that has a self title album that uses whatever color the album cover happens to be, and call it that.

Metallica is the only band that I know of that does, Everyone else just use "Self titled" :)

The worst album I ever heard in over 40 years was McCartney II. It came out in 1980 and had the song "Coming up" but the version they played on the radio was a live version that was different than on the album. The studio version was awful and so was the rest of the album. So much so that my sister tried to mail it back to Paul McCartney but the post office sent it back! (it was the cassette version).

Link, it won't let me embed: http://youtu.be/cDBkySeyiDo

But every band (maybe not Pink Floyd?) has a screwup. The Moody Blues came out with Octave in back 1978 and with people thinking it was like the "core 7" people snapped it up and sales were high until they found out that it was a Real Dud. This band is still around, but their 80 albums were average at best and they never recovered from Octave.

All the fans call EATB's self-titled album 'The Grey Album', and I don't get annoyed, I even added it to 'The Grey Album' article on Wikipedia. :)

Not that I hate King Crimson, but I found Three of A Perfect Pair... weird.

That's why I love it. I'm also a huge fan of The ConstruKction of Light, which a lot of people either dislike or don't know about.

You're an adult, why would you be interested in Justin Bieber? (I know some adults who are interested in One Direction, so I'm keeping quiet on that one).

Just listened to The Darkness - they don't sound as fun as I remembered, just annoying.

Transilvanian Hunger (by Darkthrone). Most overrated album in black metal history. The amount of hype the album gets far exceeds any other bad music or albums I listened to. I liked about 30 seconds of it if that.

The Cult Is Alive is the best Darkthrone album, and Under a Funeral Moon is better as far as their pure black metal stuff goes. But Transylvanian Hunger is far from one of the worst albums ever.

Ride the Lightning by Metallica. I just KNOW I'll get a lot of criticism for this, but let's look at the album objectviely, assuming it isn't a cult classic. The guitar tone is super treble-y, something that is a definite NO in metal, the power is completely sapped by production that makes the contrasts as dull as cardboard, james sounds super strained and the whole album just sounds like a super treble-y powerless dead album.

However, at the same time, there are some interesting parts completely ruined by bad instrument tone. Hatebreed did a lovely recreation of Escape, for instance.

I also nominate the album A Thousand Suns by Linkin park. It's as if a turntable met history textbooks, nothing more. At least their Hybird Theory EP/album and Qwerty are still good.
