Beautiful. I believe that's the first time I've ever heard the original.

My first keyboard was a Korg DW-8000.
My second was a Casio FZ-1 sampling keyboard.
Then I bought a Yamaha TX81Z.

Went through a lot of changes, fast forward to today.
I now have a Korg SV-1. I've had it for over two years but I'm now in the market for an 88 note controller with weighted keys, aftertouch, multiple assignable knobs and sliders, etc. The AKAI MPK88 comes close. What's keeping me from trading my SV-1 in for it is I read the keys were noisy, it's a very heavy keyboard, you really have to place a lot of weight on the keys to engage the aftertouch,, incorrect hammer action, etc.

For those who like Trance, here is THE Trance Synthesizer; the Roland JP-8000 analog modeling keyboard from 1996.

You can use any synth, but the JP-8000 became the #1 Synth for Trance, because of its popular "SuperSaw" waveform.

Yamaha RS7000 (had a Roland MC505, Novation Nova, and Rm1x before that)
Access Virus TI v2 (analog modeling)

Loads of NI and other plugins for Ableton Live 8 but obviously that doesn't count

Actually, I do not mind if other people use computer plug-ins, its just that I am not interested in using them myself.

I think the Minibrute is an excellent brand new analog synthesizer. It is portable, light, and does a great job of providing a basic real analog sound very well. Minibrute is also Arturia's first ever real synthesizer (ignoring their plug-in background), I think they did great with their first release.. However, in the face of the new Korg MS-20 remake, I definitely feel more drawn to that instead.. There is something about the semi-modular and patch wiring aspect, and besides, I can not afford the original MS-20 from 1978, so the new one is perfect.

Thanks puddingmouse! I love that song, and yes at first glance it does sound like he says UNDERPANTS!

BTW the drum machine used in that video is the Roland CR-78, a 100% all-analog drum machine from 1978, which was the first to use an ancient 1970's INTEL chip to control the programming parameters and memory banks. Today it is a highly regarded vintage instrument (and very expensive) but I want one badly!

My friend who I'm starting a band with, her dad has a 1970s drum machine we're going to try and use. She doesn't know what make it is, but I'll tell you as soon as I get hold of it.

I've decided I just have to get a synth at some point.
