It's hard to choose between horror and sci-fi, but I think I'll have to go with horror. A well-written scare is rare but delightful.

Sci-Fi/Fantasy, not Occult.

Science-fiction. No matter how good a movie is, it can't compare to Dune.

I like science fiction a lot, although superheroes are a close second. I liked fantasy more as a kid, like Harry Potter and stuff.

I haven't read Dune, but I saw the Lynch film, and while it had some of the most impressive visuals I had ever seen, I was very familiar with the story. I guess it's because a lot of authors pinch from it. I will get around to reading it one day.

It's worth reading - it was one of the best books I had ever read. My late father had read the whole series, and while he considered those books fair, he thought Frank Herbert should have stopped wit the first book.
