listening to a lot of Zappa at the moment. Something about the odd time signatures and intricate melodies and 20 minute jams really hits the spot. Controlled musical chaos at its finest.

Tinseltown Rebellion (1981) - Frank Zappa

especially: Easy Meat, For The Young Sophisticate, title track, The Blue Light, Bamboozled By Love, Brown Shoes, Peaches III

On The Beach (1974) - Neil Young (my go-to album when i need to mellow out)

Messin', Solar Fire, Nightingales And Bombers (1973-1975) - Manfred Mann's Earth Band

especially: Buddah, Black And Blue, Father Of Day, Time Is Right, Fat Nelly

Joe's Garage (1979) - Frank Zappa

favorites being: title track, Outside Now, Packard Goose, Watermelon In Easter Hay

YCDTOSA Vol.2 (1974 live, released in 1988) - Frank Zappa

favorites being: Inca Roads, Pygmy Twylyte, Satumaa, Montana

Freak Out!? - Frank Zappa

favorites are: Hungry Freaks Daddy, Who Are The Brain Police?, You're Probably Wondering Why I'm Here, Trouble Every Day, Help I'm A Rock

Absolutely Free (1967) - Frank Zappa

favorites being: Plastic People, Invocation And Ritual Dance Of The Young Pumpkin, Uncle Bernie's Farm, Brown Shoes Don't Make It, America Drinks And Goes Home

We're Only In It For The Money (1968) - Frank Zappa

(favorites being: Concentration Moon, Mom And Dad, Bow Tie Daddy, Let's Make The Water Turn Black, Harry You're A Beast, Absolutely Free, Mother People

Bongo Fury (1975 live) -

favorites being: Carolina Hardcore Ecstasy, Sam With The Showing Scalp Flat-Top (poem #1), Advance Romance, Man With The Woman Head (poem #2), Muffin Man

Zoot Allures (1976, track two live in Osaka 1976) - Frank Zappa

favorites being: Wind Up Workin In A Gas Station, Black Napkins, The Torture Never Stops, Zoot Allures, Disco Boy

Ship Arriving Too Late (1982, partially recorded live with studio overdubs) - Frank Zappa

favorites being:

No Not Now, I Come From Nowhere, Drowning Witch (11 mindblowing minutes of soloing and complex polyrythmical passages)

Broadway The Hard Way (1988 live) - Frank Zappa

favorites being:

Elvis Has Just Left The Building, Planet Of The Baritone Women, Any Kind Of Pain, When The Lie's So Big, Outside Now)

The Best Band You've Never Heard In Your Life (1988 live, released in 1991) - Frank Zappa (especially the horns on "Andy", but also "Mr.Green Genes", "Florentine Pogen" and "The Torture Never Stops Medley")

parts of Sheik Yerbouti (1979, recorded live in 1977-1978, studio rerecording in 1978) - Frank Zappa too

but these days mainly these tracks but on a regular basis:

Flakes, Broken Hearts Are For ********, Tryin' To Grow A Chin, I'm So Cute, City Of Tiny Lites, Wild Love, Yo' Mama

You Are What You Is (1981) - Frank Zappa

excluding the insensitive title track, favorite are: Doreen, Any Downers?, Dumb All Over, Jumbo Go Away, If Only She Woulda

whew, what a long list and i trimmed it down heavily.

I'm going to post album titles, then link to a song from each album, so you have an idea of what kind of music it is.

It's a double album compilation by The Avengers. You can get all but 3 songs for free if you have Amazon Prime.

Some really great old school punk. I'd totally forgotten about these guys until I heard them on Milk Music's Classic Punk channel the other day.

EDIT: Just found disc 1 on youtube--

...good stuff, Maynard.

While Disturbed is on hiatus the lead singer started a new band to keep busy.

Nice! Their album was produced by Steve Jones, wasn't it? Also, did you pick your screen name from the Elvis Costello song?

Right now I'm listening to Fear by Toad the Wet Sprocket, and just finished Celebrity Skin by Hole.

Mostly Lindsey Stirling's Shatter Me. Also her previous album, to a lesser extent.

I normally don't care for albums. My taste in music is so eclectic (?) that I usually only like a couple of songs on each album, but Lindsey Stirling is an exception.
