The Hall of Fame is like the Academy Awards: the criteria for induction is based more on popularity and politics than it really is any actual measure of quality. So, it's best to take these all with a grain of salt.
That being said, I'd love to see more progressive rock get recognition. The biggies like Yes, King Crimson and Dream Theater, of course, but also the unsung heroes like Marillion, Cardiacs, IQ, Van der Graaf Generator...I think Porcupine Tree is about 2 years away from eligibility, as well.
XTC is an excellent choice, for in a just world they'd be mentioned in the same sentence as The Beatles, The Kinks and The Beach Boys as among the greatest pop-rock bands of the 20th century. It'd be incredible if Talk Talk also got a nod, for single-handedly inventing the genre of post-rock.
