I am still unsure I have a grasp on what fits classic pop and rock genres, and, when I made my initial posts, here, I made them, based on some research I did, regarding 'classic pop' on Wikipedia. The next set: ie, Todd Rundgren-Hello It's Me and Chicago-Wishing You Were Here, I posted, based on what I remembered to be very popular songs on the radio, when I was quite young, but, they would constantly play on the radio, over and over again, so, I thought, perhaps they'd fit into this genre, but I wasn't sure. Now, I am posting Neil Young's Harvest Moon, as it reminds me of my 6th grade class, as we would play the entire album, repeatedly, for months on end. BUT, it may not fit within the theme of this thread. Hopefully I am staying within the theme, at least, somewhat. If nothing else, this thread has taken me to places on YouTube where I am reminded of so much great music, such as The Allman Brothers, Led Zeppelin, Jeff Beck and all sorts of bands that I used to like, that I haven't listened to in ages. Sorry for the long post. Hopefully this Neil Young track fits in here.

Genre definitions are fluid. People disagree and argue about them. When Classic rock first became a radio format in the late 1980's it was hard rock or progressive rock from the late 1960's and 1970's. Now it is all sorts of rock from the late 1960's through the such early 1990's acts as Nirvana and Pearl Jam.

Back in the 70's there was a split between what was considered Pop and Rock. Pop was Top 40 and singles oriented listened to by young teens on AM via transistor radios. Rock was album oriented listined to by older teens and college students on FM stations, some sort of speakers were usually involved. That was 40 years ago, it is all nostolgia now. "Soft Rock" acts like Billy Joel that would never be played by proper rock stations then are staples of Classic Rock now.

Neal Young is considered Classic Rock by pretty much everybody.

One of my favorite sunshine pop songs. It evokes a totally different era when every moment was not managed and multitasking. People actually spent summer days sitting for hours in thier backyard or in the local park reading a book or listining to music or the baseball game on their transistor radios

Friends of Distinction - Grazing in the Grass
