Yes that is exactly what it is, I've only found out about it due to looking up Folk Metal bands I listen to and then looking up the instruments they use that I don't recognize the name of. So I have certainly heard it in folk metal, but not by itself so not sure what it specifically sounds like, I am sure I would recognize it though if I look up an example of how it sounds by itself.

Alright so sounds kind of like bag-pipes but not entirely, really has its own sound but but that is the closest thing I can compare it to.

It sounds like a music box, wind it up and make a song. Not very fun to play. I have an interest in old time banjo music, Appalachian style, Minstrel style, gourd banjos like the slaves used to make, clawhammer style, Civil War banjos, and a bit of modern bluegrass. It's the only true American instrument. I also like the fiddle, but it's somewhat harder to play.

Well kind of except you don't really wind it up...you turn the crank which turns the wheel which then rubs against the strings, so I guess that is somewhat music box like except you have to keep turning it as it doesn't wind up like a music box, plus there is the keyboard. Might be kind of fun for me to play, due to the simplicity though keyboard could still be hard if it's like a piano keyboard.

Also I tend to like string instruments in general, but certainly cannot play them I did try to learn bass for a while and my grandpa has a banjo I think he's tried showing me how to play it. Also is a fiddle and a violin the same thing just played differently, or are they actually different instruments? I have certainly heard both not sure which is true though.

Same played different.
Fiddle / violin that is.

I played the harmonica - first very bad. These days folks say I do it well. I can play classical to country, blues to Gospel on the harmonica.
My father in law calls it a french harp. I bring about 20 to gigs or jams.
